March 16th, 1926 - June 10th, 1983
In Memory of Elner Ray Kathka
I kissed my wife, then called my men,
gave work assignments for the day.
I stopped by the Coffee Shop— then
got in my truck and went on my way.
To build has been a challenge to me —
to make things stong, beautiful and true;
To give my men a chance to work,
to give honor to God in all we do.
Then the Lord whispered in my ear,
"I've been building a mansion over here.
Your mission is finished, it's ready for you,
I'd like you to work, on My building crew."
"Just leave your body, and leave your truck,
I'll push them aside where they won't be struck."
Theres a new body in the home over there,
There won't be pain or bills or care."
So I went to join the Lord's building crew,
where we'll be building a mansion for you.
So prepare, dear one, for the day,
when the Lord whispers in your ear to say,
"Your Manions is finished, come meet the crew,
that's been building a mansion for you."

The following was read at the Cemetary June 14, 1983 Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you wake in the morning hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft starlight at night. Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep.
