Elizabeth Marie Hart age 55, passed peacefully on Saturday Nov 1, in Taos New Mexico after a 9 month battle with cancer. Born Nov 4, 1952 in Chicago, she is predeceased by her parents Wayne J. Hart and Ann Hart of Lake Forest, IL. Libby devoted her life to the expression of beauty pursued in her career as a fine arts painter. After graduating from Ripon College in WI, she moved to Vail, CO in the mid 70's. She studied at the Denver Art Students League and The Art Institute of Chicago. In 2000 she moved to Costilla, NM and opened her own studio. She is represented by Vail International Gallery (www.vailgallery.com) and her works can be viewed on her website at www.libbyhart.com. Over the years she won many awards in the SW, recently Best of Taos Invites Taos 2008 for Representational Painting and Drawing. She is survived by 5 siblings; Charles Hart of Grafton, WI; Chris Hart of Suwanee, GA; Amy Hart of Destin, FL; Bill Hart of Gurnee, IL and Dede Murphy of Lake Bluff, IL. Memorial service info contact: Rivera-Hanlon 575-758-3841. In lieu of flowers donate to The Art Students League of Denver, 200 Grant St. Denver, CO 80203. Her family would like to thank all her friends and fellow artists for their support, especially Nancy Delpero and Gorus of Taos, NM. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 3 PM at Sangre de Cristo Church in San Luis. Reception immediately follows at Ventero Open Press in San Luis.

Libby is one of my favorite artists. I met her only once - she was in a room full of artists painting in Albuquerque some years ago. Her paintings drew me to her immediately and I discovered in those few minutes of chatting with her that she was a person with a light inside her that came out through her paintings to the rest of us. My heart will remember her.

We have just found out about our fuzzylogic passing away and our hearts are heavy. We met Libby aka fuzzylogic at the HGTV DreamHome message board. We shared laughter and tears and dreams with each other. What an amazing woman she was. You will forever be in our hearts. The world was a much brighter place with you in it. Libby..aka Fuzzy, will be so missed. She was such a delight in our HGTV message group. And she was there for me personally when I went through a difficult time. We loved her talent, but her loving heart is how we will always remember her. Thank you Fuzzy, for sharing your heart with me. Kitty.

I never met Libby in person. I ( and a lot of others) chatted with her quite a bit though about the Dream Homes at HGTV. We all share about our personal lives and become friends. Libby or Fuzzy as we called her, was so special, we miss here. I was so happy to read that she had a close relationship with Jesus, I felt that, but now I know for certain. How could she touch so many she never met? She was special. Bless you Fuzzy. Till we meet again.
