I just happened to Google Liz's name today to see how she was, I'm heartbroken to learn she recently passed away. Liz was like a mother to me, she helped make me who I am today. I started volunteering at PHS back when I was 12 years old in 1992 and worked there for 10 years off and on. Dr. Suzie, Sandy, Liz, Tony, and the entire PHS family took me in. I was living in a group home for neglected children and PHS bacome home for me. I worked closely with Liz in the exotic animal department and it completely changed my life. Having positive influence in your life meant more than I knew was possible, she showed love, patient, kindness, courage and creativity. I remember when I was 12 or 13, Liz was feeding our yellow python in the old exotics room and the snake grabbed her hand. And coiled around both her arms, but she was calm as a cat. I was terrified, freaking out as she asked me to grab a pencil and pry the snakesouth open to release her. It's one of many memories I'll never forget. I'll miss her greatly, think about her all the time andy condolences to anyone and everyone who had the pleasure of having her in their lives.

The first time I met Liz, she had a boa constrictor wrapped around herself. From that moment on, I knew she was a special lady, and not only did I learn SOO much from her about animals, but I was privileged to share office space with her, on and off, for 23 years at PHS. I started off on a folding table which she had set-up in the original education room that became the store that became..what I don’t know. I loved the fact that despite her office looking like chaos, she always knew where everything was. THAT was amazing!! She taught me to love and appreciate so many different animals including snakes, that even to this day I have no problem “petting” them. She was a true individual, a special friend to all animals and a special friend to me. I will miss seeing her newest “creations” for the organizations that were privileged to have her as a member. The world is a little less special without Liz…but I know she is helping the creator manage the menagerie in Heaven!

Liz did so much for myself, my sister and the entire ferret underground movement in California and the San Gabriel Valley. I would look forward to catching up every year at the American Family Pet Fairs first in Pomona and later fir many years in Costa Mesa. In looking for photos I found some from Costa Mesa when Liz was showing a wonderful purse/wallet she had made. She was always very busy and needed at these events but took the time to come buy and see our set up and visit throughout the weekend. Liz know you will be thought of often and bring a smile to my mode and face.

When Liz joined up with the Kiwanis Club of Port Orchard we knew we had a treasure. She was quick to get involved and soon established her own fingerprints on the club activities. She had big ideas and knew how to follow through on them. She will be missed.
