Eleanor Christy

Eleanor Christy died Monday in Morris Hills Multi Care Center in Morristown following a long illness. She was 69.

She was born in Madison, and lived there prior to becoming a resident of Morris Plains, where she lived for 20 years.

Mrs. Christy was a secretary for Morristown Memorial Hospital in the medical records department with 20 years of service before retiring in 1998.

She was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Church in Morristown.

Survivors include a son, Andrew Christy of Hawaii; a daughter, Carol Starke of Madison; four brothers, James Dawson of New Vernon, Henry Dawson of Easton, Pa., Harold Dawson of Harleysville, Pa. and William Dawson of Hopatcong; two sisters, Jane Lee of Hopatcong and Louise Romack of Plainfield; a niece, Gloria Borchert of Basking Ridge; five grandchildren; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 1, at 10 a.m. in Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge. Interment Somerset Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
