When Edna Owsley Hill was born on September 30, 1919, in Glencoe, Illinois, her father, Frederick, was 48, and her mother, Edna, was 38. She married Bethel Robinson Murray in 1942. She then married Eugene Jackson Adams and they had two daughters together. She died on May 25, 1987, in Ormond Beach, Florida, at the age of 67.

She was a musician, artist, interior decorator, tennis player and a beach roamer.
