Earl A. Reifer
October 20th, 1949 - April 8th, 2020
October 20th, 1949 - April 8th, 2020
Earl A. Reifer, age 70, of Arcadia, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Methodist Hospital in Arcadia from multiple organ failure. He was preceded in death by his parents Milton and Margaret Reifer and was survived by his wife of 39 years, Pamela, one daughter, Alyse (Derek), four brothers, Tom (Shirley), Leonard (Cyndie), Ray (Dorolyn), David (Dee), one sister Jeanette (Carl), and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Earl was born in Alhambra, California on October 20, 1949, and raised by a loving and hard-working family. He graduated from Mission High School in San Gabriel and later completed a degree in automotive mechanics at Rio Hondo College in Whittier. Earl was a passionate man with a strong work ethic. In his younger years, he worked at the Reifer family gas station doing what he loved most: working with his hands. After marrying his wife in 1980, he opened a furniture store in Alhambra and enjoyed working with the many clients he came across through the years. Before the arrival of his daughter in 1992, he started a successful career at California State University, Los Angeles as a maintenance mechanic until retiring in 2011. Earl had a love for the outdoors and soaking up the sun. He loved fishing in Mammoth, camping with his family, building and fixing various items in his workshop, and just taking a drive somewhere new. He truly knew how to enjoy the simple things of life and always jumped at the opportunity to teach someone what he knew. Earl will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
