Dorothy Frontiera
September 9th, 1947 - March 26th, 2021
September 9th, 1947 - March 26th, 2021
In Remembrance of Dorothy Jane Frontiera passed away on March 26th, 2021, at the age of 73. A longtime resident of St. Petersburg, Dottie was born in Tampa, Florida, on September 9, 1947, to Onice (Wilson) Wright and Doris Crumpton Wright. The youngest of three children. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Louis, her daughter, Josalyn Lowman, son in law, John (Scott), three grandchildren, Taylor, Rachel, and Jonathan, sister Sandra Vierday and her husband Ralph, brother Bruce Wright and his wife Susie, eight nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and great nephews. Growing up, her family lived in Tampa, Lakeland, Altamonte Springs, and St. Petersburg. The St. Petersburg house she resided in, belonged to her parents, and will continue to remain in her family. She developed early health struggles at the age of 7, when she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, and through the decades, her body slowly began to decline. Dottie never wanted, nor expected, special treatment, or for her disability to be viewed as a disadvantage. Even as a child, with frequent doctor appointments and tests, she would always reply, “I'm fine.” Dottie became a strong, independent woman, who accomplished whatever she desired. For years, she worked as a cake decorator for Publix, then later ran a small home daycare with her mother. Eventually, she became a homemaker, fully devoted to her husband and daughter. Dottie was very close to her family, and they each recall treasured memories with her, and her contagious laugh. Her positive attitude was admired by all who knew her well. Even through the pain, she always shared a smile. Dottie credited her outlook to her faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She learned through her study of the Bible, that God never intended for humans to suffer, grow old, or die. In the remaining months of her life, she continued to share her hope with others. Dottie held close the promise of living again, here on earth, healthy, and reunited with her loved ones. She would ask her family to keep enduring, a little while longer, until they meet again. She will be waiting. Her hope is guaranteed. The memorial service will be May 8th, at 3 o'clock through Zoom. A friend sent me a poem that I would like to share at this difficult time. “Mama” Those memories of you will always bring a smile. If only I could have you back for just a little while. Then we could sit and talk again, just like we used to do. You always meant so very much, and always will too. The fact that you're no longer here, will always cause me pain. But you're forever in my heart, until we meet again.
