Always enjoyed working with Donald. I looked forward to the times I would travel to NM and we'd review his program. Our work dynamic turned into a friendship. I remember how excited he was about retiring and working his "farm" and a new old tractor as well as being more of a grandpa. We took several elements from his program and used them as a best practice that we shared with other states as well as in national emergency management forums. Prayers for all of his family.

To Cece, Mom, and Pop... I am so sorry for your loss. Donald has been taken too soon. I have so many memories of spending my childhood with your family. The first memory that came to mind is when us kids had gone to the water park and on the way home, going up the mountain (Donald driving that ole VW van) we were all chanting "I think I can " downshift after downshift as we crawled to the top eagerly awaiting the easy coast down the other side. May he rest in peace with his boy, and may you find comfort as you go through this difficult time. With much love, Patty
