Forever in our hearts

Donald Jankoski, born July 28th, 1961, in Marlborough, Massachusetts passed away Sunday August 15th, 2021, in Templeton, California after a long illness. Known by "Don" to his friends and colleagues, "Big D" or "Uncle Donny" to his nieces and nephews, "Uncle Moto" to his great nieces and nephews and "Honey Face " to his beloved wife Brandee, was so loved and adored by so many.

Don was a graduate of Bishop Guertin High School, Nashua, New Hampshire class of 1979. Don participated in track and field  and football. Honored to have been selected as (a) Captain of his Senior year team, they were victorious in the Thanksgiving Day game defeating cross town rival Nashua High School at Holman Stadium. He was also named to the New Hampshire Shrine Football Team  that year to which he was so honored for such a great cause. “Strong legs run so weak legs walk “ and “to try when your arms are too weary” were embraced by Don at a young age and these beliefs became a big part of his character for the rest of his life.  No matter who it was, no matter how tired he may have been, no matter what the obstacle may have been to be of any assistance, this man would do anything to help another in need. Putting other people first was never an effort for him. Don also attended the University of Maine, Orono on a football scholarship until a significant injury prematurely ended his football career.

Formerly of Hudson, New Hampshire, Don was a valued longtime AT&T employee serving as  Senior- Tech Project Manager-Construction & Engineering, PM Construction & Engineering-NE. Don also served in various capacities for several construction companies in the area, one of which being Hutter Construction as a Project Manager overseeing the excavation division. He had a huge passion for construction. Not just within the cellular Industry but within the construction Industry in general. Building bridges, roads, operating heavy equipment from dozers to cranes, he just loved the work. And most of all, throughout his professional life he so embraced and enjoyed leading people. Don relocated to California in 2013 eventually making his gorgeous lakeside cabin in Paso Robles his forever home with his wife, Brandee. A lifelong dream of his was to live by the water and he enjoyed peaceful rides on his boat with his wife and dogs, family and friends, rides on his Harley and quality time with those he loved.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Brandee Jankoski and numerous immediate and extended family and relatives throughout the country from California and Kentucky to Massachusetts, Ohio, Rhode Island, Florida and Maine. Don was an honest, loyal, loving, kind and hardworking man who will be remembered by many for the immense impact he had on their lives. He was a humble man who never took anything for granted... besides East Coast Chinese food:)

He will be remembered by all that were touched by his presence with the memory of his big, solid handshakes, loving hugs, honest advice, his work ethic, his commitment to doing what was right and his childish laugh.

We will carry you with us until we meet again.

Rest easy and peacefully.

Brandee - we love these pictures of you and Don. We are so sorry about the loss of Don to you, your families and friends. Don always had a kind word and smile, we will miss that. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, a special skill. We wish you strength and warm memories. We will think of Don at sunset at the point and hope to join you there sometime soon. Words can only say so much about how Great a man Don was. Many come to mind as honest, hardworking, dependable, reliable, lover of nature and people. He was a True Teacher and held everyone to high standards, because he did so to himself - knowing it's the right thing to do. He always helped anyone in any need. A Great Guy with a Heart of Gold! He's sorely missed by Many - but God willing - We Shall Meet Again. May You Rest in Peace Brother !!!

This “Gentle Giant “ was the kindest, most beautiful, loving man on the planet. I’ll be forever grateful that we did get to spend time with him before his move west and that his last years were the happiest in his life. He loved deeply and was loved.

Sturgis 2012. Fantastic memories and I'm so thankful to have had the opportunity to experience such a "once in a lifetime" with Donny. He loved being on two wheels. He loved the open spaces. He loved this country.
