Donald's Daughter
Donald "Don" Ramseth

"He came, of course, at 3:00 A.M., a night owl from the start! Tacoma was the place, from which we thought we'd never part." Dorothy Grace Ramseth
Don was born on April 18, 1951, in Tacoma, Washington. He was born at 3:00 A.M. and was a night owl from the start. His parents were Russell Martin Ramseth and Dorothy Grace Noble Ramseth. Don left this earthly life peacefully on September 9, 2024.
Don was a loving father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle, and a close friend to many. He is survived by his two daughters, Jodi Lee Talbot (Donnie Sweazey), and Amanda Leona Gruendell (John). He’s also survived by his two sisters, Cathy Liehr (Ken) and Pamela Lane (Dave). Don also dearly loved his two grandchildren Tessa Ramseth Talbot and Grace Willow Gruendell.
Drama and music were always special in Don’s life. A favorite memory of his was being in the Granger High School production of the Broadway musical “Bells are Ringing”. Don and Jodi also spent many Sunday mornings dancing and singing along to nostalgic rock on the radio. Later, his Sunday’s became filled with marathon days of race watching. One of Amanda’s favorite memories was learning how to drive by playing racing games with him.
Don was active in the scouts and always mechanically inclined. From engineering a two story bicycle to working on cars as soon as he could, he was always making things run bigger, better, faster and louder! This led him to his true passion of drag racing. He was part of the pit crew with Renwell racing and keeping the heads in top order was the height of his mechanic career. Taking photos of people, nature or anything car related was one of Don's favorite pastimes. His family and friends jokingly called him the paparazzi.
Don spent many a weekend in the west desert, chasing down abandoned mines and ghost towns with his best gal, Kris Clausen. They had so many fun adventures together!
The family would like to thank the staff at Intermountain Medical Center for providing excellent end of life care to Don.
