Debra Lee Wilson (Frey), 67, of Vienna WV stepped into Glory on August 30, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. “Deb” was born on July 26th, 1956, in Houston, TX. She grew up in Brenham, TX and was an outstanding musician during her teenage & college years. She attended Blinn College on a music scholarship where she was renown for being one of the best flautist in the state as well as Drum Majorette. After graduating from Blinn, Deb met her husband “Bud” at a local Texas restaurant where at the time she was a waitress. They were quite smitten with each other and were engaged and married a short time later, on October 18, 1980. Their romance lasted for 41 years and they were blessed with a wonderful son. Deb was not only an elite flautist, but also a wonderful southern gospel singer. In the mid 1980’s Deb traveled to Nashville and recorded a well received “Camp meeting style” southern gospel album with the likes of the Gaither’s, Mark Lowry, and Sandy Patty. In 1990, Deb and her family packed up and moved to West Virginia. While being a stay-at-home mother Deb decided to pursue a lifelong dream and become a Registered Nurse. She quickly climbed through the ranks at several organizations where she won multiple Nurse of the Year awards, was loved by her patients, and became an Executive Nurse Administrator over multiple healthcare facilities. She loved being her patient’s advocate and was a nurse for over 25 years before retiring. She often called her career in nursing her “Ministry” and was constantly leading her patients to Christ. Later in life, Deb enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters. She loved attending their softball and basketball games, cheerleading events, and talent shows. They brought her an immense amount of joy and happiness. Deb was a member of the Bethel Worship Center where she loved to attend. She was active with the praise and worship team and loved helping her church family whenever she could. Deb had a wonderful relationship with our Lord and will be enjoying her many hobbies in Heaven. Deb was predeceased by her husband Herbert Ray “Bud” Wilson; father, William R. Frey & mother, Janie Frey; She is survived by her son Daniel (wife Mary Beth); her two grandchildren Victoria & Abigail; her brother William R “Bubba” Frey (wife Gloria) her nieces Amy Beth & Laura and her nephews Billy & Ricky. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday September 23, 2023 at 11:00A. M, at Bethel Worship Center, 39782 OH-7, Reedsville, OH 45772. Flowers can be sent to Bethel Worship Center for the Celebration of Life service; addressed to the Wilson Family.
