"A heart is shown not by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.”

Debra Darlene (Clancy) Melton, age 64, passed away Monday, December 2nd, 2024, at her place of residence in Thomasville, NC. She was born in Los Angeles, CA, to Patrick James “Jim” Clancy and Beverly Joyce (Thulin) Clancy. She was a graduate of Palm Springs High School. She lived most of her life in California until she decided to reside in North Carolina in 2000.

Debra loved people and always saw the best in them. She was creative—an artist, poet, author, and a talented singer. A strong advocate for others, she enjoyed organizing fundraisers for various causes. Debra was someone you could easily talk to and was outspoken when it was necessary. She often came up with the funniest quotes and had a smile that could light up a room; her laughter was infectious. She deeply loved animals and was known for her efforts in rescuing them. She will be missed and was truly a remarkable woman.

She is survived by her Daughter Bethany McDaniel (Kevin) and three grandsons, Ian (Kristina), Austin, and Aiden.

She is survived by three brothers: David, Danny (Christy), and Kelly Clancy. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Quotes: If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart, I'll always be with you” – Winnie the Pooh.

A heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others.” ― L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz”

A Private Celebration of Life service will be held.
