Loved Ones

Forever in our Hearts Debra Sue Hall, 60, was a native of Arizona born at St. Joe’s hospital on August 26, 1956. She attended Squaw Peak Elementary, Camelback High School and graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor’s in Art Education. She spent most of her life in Phoenix teaching elementary school, drawing, painting, gardening, shopping, dancing, concerts, taking thousands of photos, and thoroughly living life. Music was a passion, particularly Prince, classic rock and blues, but she openly acknowledged that listening was better than singing since she couldn’t carry a tune. But this did not stop her from singing loudly to Nickelback with the top down in her candy red convertible! She loved nature, which is why she wanted a tree planted in her honor at Granada Park. She enjoyed hiking and being with animals. She doted on her “furry children” with love, sparkles, bows, ribbons and lots of homemade treats. They adored her too. Bridget, her Cavalier, and Spunky, her lovable cat, brought her immeasurable joy especially in the past year as she battled the side effects from chemo and radiation. Debbie was an only child so she didn’t have a large family. She is preceded in death by her mother, Sally, and survived by her step-father, Roland; two step-sisters, Leah and Janet; her boyfriend, Pete, and many friends who were the major part of her special inner circle. Deb loved to travel and learn new things. She was “in the know” about the hottest restaurants and places to visit. She particularly enjoyed reading biographies of famous people and her love of Marilyn Monroe would be hard to top. Debbie loved holidays and decorated for every one of them. Christmas was her favorite. For many years, she joined in the annual Christmas shopping and picture with Santa event with several friends. Her personal tradition was bringing smiles to strangers by giving away candy canes. Debbie’s enthusiasm and spark will be missed by all who knew her. If you want to give a remembrance, make donations to the Arizona Animal Welfare League & SPCA or the Arizona Foundation for Epilepsy.

Debbie was my roommate in college at Northern Arizona University for 2 years. I found her many years ago and we talked on the phone once. She said she was a kindergarten teacher and was moving to Durango Colorado. It appears that she did not leave Phoenix. The last time I saw her was in Ohio as I was visiting my grandparents there and she was staying with her father there. We went out on a little rowboat in the lake by her father's home. I have many fun memories of our time together in college! Something made me think of her today and I have been busily searching on the internet and am very sad to see that she passed away. I am fighting back the tears at the moment. I was so hoping to get in touch with her again and I hope she mentioned me once or twice to people that she knew. She knew me as Kim Lambert in college at Northern Arizona University. I don't know if anybody is seeing this but I hope someone will. She was an awesome friend in college and I wish we had stayed in better touch with each other. God bless.

I am very sorry to hear of Debbie’s passing and would like to extend my sympathy and condolences to her family and all those close to her. I went to grade school and high school with Debbie. We became reacquainted again through our mutual friend, John Holloway, who passed about 20-years ago. God Bless Debbie, her family, and those close to her; she touched many lives in such a positive way. Jim Goldsmith

Dear loving family & friends of Debra, I’m very sorry for the sad loss of your beloved Debra. Though I don’t know you, and I didn’t know your dear Debra, please accept my deepest sympathy for you in your sad loss. I would like to share with you what continues to bring me comfort in the most painful losses of my life in the hope that you will find some additional comfort. I think about the fact that they’re not suffering in any way, and that means a lot to me! And I look forward to the time for the resurrection at which time I hope to be here to welcome them each back to life with a close and loving hug! My beloved Mom and Dad and my beloved youngest brother who died suddenly and very unexpectedly at age 51. Acts 24:15 promises “that there is going to be a resurrection.” Ecclesiastes 9:11b explains why many die, that “time and unexpected events (Or, “unforeseen occurrence”) overtake them all.” Our loving God doesn’t cause sad things to happen to our loved ones, as James 1:13 shows. Revelation 21:4 gives us the wonderful promise for the near future of no pain or death! Psalms 37:10, 11, 29 help us realize that many will upon being resurrected, be welcomed back to life by their loved ones! Then “the meek will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace to live forever here on the earth when it’s restored to paradise conditions! Then life will be like our Creator meant for life to be! Perfect peace and harmony; even the animals will be safe and peaceful as Isaiah 11:6-9 shows. Isaiah 33:24 shows that there won’t be any more sickness! And Job 33:25 that older ones will return to the days of their youth but with good health! Romans 15:4 shows that we can find true comfort in God’s written Word. Please look at JW.ORG for more comfort. Take care. Sincerely Yours, Cindy Boyer
