David Wayne Perry, Dearly Loved and Deeply Missed
David W. Perry died peacefully Friday morning, surrounded by family and love, after a recent terminal cancer diagnosis.
David was a passionate and prolific artist, working in many forms throughout his lifelong career. David was inspired to create works with a message, but always with a sense of humor that all who know him are familiar with. He believed in standing up for the misfortunate and lending a hand to any friend in need. He was a lover of nature and greatly enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether canoeing the Caddo, camping, or building a racetrack in the backyard. He also loved to share his time with his grandchildren and spent countless hours with them doing art projects, building birdhouses and soapbox cars, and even constructing a zipline swing in the backyard – anything to entertain his grandkids. David was known for a big laugh and an even bigger smile. He would share to anyone who asked that his greatest life accomplishment was marrying his childhood sweetheart, Lisa Casey. He was a devoted and doting husband, proud father and grandfather, and a fiercely loyal family member and friend. He will be greatly missed by many.
David W. Perry was born May 19, 1958, in Beaumont, TX, to Mr. John Perry and Mrs. Mildred Parks Perry. He passed from this life February 7, 2025, with family in Forney, Tx.
David is preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Casey Perry, his son, Todd Perry, and his parents. Left to cherish his memory are: his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter Natosha Perry and children, Maile, Charles, and Johnny, his late son Todd Perry’s children Jordan, Katie, and Emily, Casey and Jeremy Thornton and children Jackson and Elizabeth, Rachel and Douglas Bradley and their children Dade and Ethan, Charles and Teresa Sherrod and their children Monica, Kayla, Aiden, and Jaxton, and his great granddaughter Mila; his brothers, nieces, and nephews Jay and Tracy Perry and their child Bex Perry and partner Danny Strinden, Greg and Julie Perry and their children Nathan Perry and Jennifer Hargrove; his mother-in-law Carolyn Posey Sassi, and his sister-in-law Marilyn and Steven Kaptain and nephew Sage Stevens, and a host of relatives and beloved friends. David Perry is dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
