David's Spouse
David "Dave" George Mroz, II
September 29th, 1975 - March 24th, 2025
September 29th, 1975 - March 24th, 2025
I cannot express how much my heart aches with Dave's passing. He was the light of our lives, the glue that kept us together and the rock that we stood tall on. I will never understand why I only got 27 years with him, 20 as his wife, but I am so thankful for everyone of those years. It is so hard to see all that he will miss but I am thankful for every race he cheered on, every hockey game he yelled at the refs at and every performance he watched. I am so thankful for the nights playing games at the tables, the dinners out kid free, the vacations we took and the little moments that seemed so small but turned out to be everything. The brush of his hand on my knee, a hug for Alyssa, a debate over some sports something or another with Nate that I could never follow. Such simple moments that made up our life with him are what I keep replaying in my mind.
I invite you to join us as we celebrate his life this week as detailed in the events section here. He had such a big circle of people that loved him. I wanted to create a space where all of us could share our memories of his life.
Thank you to all of our family, friends, school families, sports families and coworkers for the outpouring of support and love. We have a long road ahead of us but I know we have a strong support network to lean on.
In lieu of flowers, please give in his name to The American Heart Association https://www.heart.org/.

Dear Mroz Family, We were shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of your beloved husband and father Dave. We were truly enriched by having spent time with him, engaging in many thought provoking discussions, debates, sharing jokes and memes, sporting events and generally enjoying his sharp sense of wit and humor. He was always proud of his family and spoke of you with such fondness and joy. We will be praying that God helps you focus on the good times and lessons learned with and through Dave and eventually brings you the peace necessary to carry on in his honor until you see him again. May God Bless and Keep You All-The Cooneys

Mroz Family, We are so saddened to learn of Dave's passing. We had the great pleasure of spending both the Cross Country and hockey seasons with your family for the past 3 years. Dave was a constant presence at both the courses and the rinks and was not only Nate's biggest fan, but a cheerleader for all the CC boys. Although our time was short, Dave definitely made a lasting impression in our lives. Our hearts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Your CC friends, Ray '25, Don, Lynne, Kaisa and Brooklyn
Gillis Family
Our hearts are heavy with the sudden loss of Dave. As a cherished member of the Shamrock Prep hockey family, we will always remember the special moments shared with him — the laughter and camaraderie with the dads by the glass, the excitement of cheering on Nate, and the spirited debates over the refs’ calls. Dave’s presence, kindness, and sense of humor touched all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by the entire community. During this incredibly difficult time, please know that we are here for you. You are never far from our thoughts, and we are just a phone call away if there’s anything you need. Your family is in our prayers as we hold you close during this time of sorrow. With love, deepest sympathy, and all our support, The Gillis Family
