David Mutshinyalo "Pat Boone" Mothibe
February 2nd, 1951 - June 25th, 2021
February 2nd, 1951 - June 25th, 2021
David Mutshinyalo “Pat Boone” Muthivhi (Mothibe), was born in White City Jabavu, Soweto, Johannesburg on the 2nd of February 1951 to Annah Shibiti “Nthuna” Maluleke-Muthivhi and Francis Khashani “Kokwane” Muthivhi. David grew up blessed in the company of his siblings; Shirley, George, Violet, Victor, Winnie, Julia, Jeanette, Sarah, Sheila, Elliot, Sidney and Denga. His formative years began in White City Jabavu where he attended Molaetsa Primary School and later moved to Tshebedisanong High School. In later years, the family moved to Tshiawelo in Soweto. In the marvel of his 70 years on this earth, David was an artist of his own life’s masterpiece. A self-starter with innate entrepreneurial instincts. His drive and determination to succeed were evident when he built his first car by hand one part at a time. His entrepreneurial journey began as a taxi driver after which he became a multiple taxi owner. He continued on his path as a diverse and defiant trailblazer who subsequently ventured into multiple business interests including fast food outlets, hair salons, cross border trade, trucking, investment consortiums, the mining sector, office furniture, clothing manufacture and retail, vehicle dealership, property rentals, insurance and various other projects. Bra Pat, as he was fondly called, constantly inspired people to invest in themselves and follow their dreams. He encouraged those around him and lent a helping hand by means of education, job creation and investment opportunities. He lived a purpose driven life, sparking a wildfire in the lives that he touched and leaving reminisce of himself along his life’s journey. He enjoyed his breakaway times at the dam, travelling and a fine glass of wine, but the love of his life, which debatably came second to his family, was the sport of golf. He endured a loss in the untimely departure of his late partner Salome M. Muthivhi, but was fortunate enough to find love again and is survived by his dear wife Nthabiseng Muthivhi, his children and grandchildren. In his starlit departure from this earthly journey, David leaves us with a shining legacy; A devoted loving father and husband, an honourable elder, a loving brother and uncle, a gentle grandfather, a trusted friend and a well-respected businessman with a brilliant acumen. The memories are plentiful and will be cherished endlessly. Your spirit will live on eternally. Psalm 23 ( This was his late Mother’s Favourite Psalm) The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. “Kurhula ku wena ngwana wa Mahosi! Ntukulu wa Guyo wa Mashakadzi. Inkomo..” ''Rine riri kha vha edele nga mulalo Singo mukololo wa Ha-Tshikalange Mphaphuli Muthivhi." ‘Death is the Last Chapter in Time but the First Chapter in Eternity’ Till We Meet Again. AMEN.

Busanathi Mothibe
DAD YOU CAN NOT LOOSE A PERSON, ONLY THEIR BODY, FOR THE REST OF THEM CA BE FOUND IN YOUR MIND AND HEART Dad has achieved many accomplishments and one of his biggest, was being a father. He showed and gave love expecting nothing in return and this love was not only limited to us but to nieces, nephews, our friends and his grandchildren. A provider, protector, teacher and actively involved in our lives. From sport days, school dramas, suspensions (Lebogang) and being pulled out of night clubs (yes Busanathi and Mashudu each have their own experiences), you could count on Dad. Having a dad like ours gives you a certain kind of strength to make it in life. We’ve unexpectedly become fighters and survivors through life’s challenges and we stand here strong because we were raised by a superhero. Love, laughter and enjoying life are some of the things that Dad has instilled us and not forgetting hard work, and fighting for the love and life you want. And to our little sisters…He was the biggest supporter any child could ask for. He’ll be your guardian and be with us in spirit when we celebrate your achievements. You can count on him always. Only now do I understand why God gave dad the stature he had, to fill him with all the passion, drive and love that he had to share with all the many people in his life. DAD, WE are truly blessed to have been chosen to be YOUR children and the love you instilled in us. Through love and memories, you are immortal. Your book of life ended, but our love writes the sequels!
