David's Daughter-In-Law
David Howard Lloyd
March 28th, 1933 - March 2nd, 2024
March 28th, 1933 - March 2nd, 2024
David Howard Lloyd was born into a military family. He and his sister Syndey grew up traveling around the country, including some precious time in Hawaii and California. As a young man, he served in the Airforce, where he was involved in filmmaking. After completing his military service, he enrolled in film school in NYC. There he met his first wife, Virginia, in a college class. They share a son, Eric who was born in 1964, and he was step dad to Virginia's first child, Richard Lloyd. While the couple later parted, David remained in Eric's life. The love of his life was Beverly, whom he met through mutual friends. Together, they raised April, David's step-daughter.
David has 4 beloved Grandchildren: Dylan, Bridget, Gabriella and Rhys. 3 of whom were able to visit him in his final months.
Over the years, David worked in various parts of the country as a film editor. He would move from TV editing to movies. He moved the family to California in 1978, to work for various companies. He is a member of Film Editors Guild.
In their retirement, David and Beverly moved to Palm Springs, where they remained near family, and in the hotter temps and sunshine he loved.
David was full of laughter and wit. He loved a good pun and did a little dance movement with his hands with the grandkids when it was time to go somewhere. He made excellent omelets and frequently said it was his only cooking skill. While he had fiery moments, he was always kind and gentle to kids, wives and pets. Of his wife Beverly, he said she made every day an adventure for him. The two had been married for so long, neither could remember the date they were married.
His normal attire was shorts, sandals and a t-shirt. Later, he was convinced that jeans were no longer for "the youngsters" and added them to his daily attire. His hair was always full and bouncy, and while it was white for a long stretch of his life, he said it made him look dapper, and it did.
