David Lange: His Story as we know it from 2004-2019 From Cass and Carrie Brewer David was somewhat of a renaissance man who had many talents and areas of knowledge. His family was very important to him and one of his most important accomplishments. Linda, David's spouse were together for 34 years and truly enjoyed time spent cooking and entertaining together. Together, they had three children, Spencer, Tanner and Hannah. Always his main topic of conversation were those kids! Praising their activities and scholastic achievements while stating he didn't know how he got so lucky. David being the dedicated dad rarely missed a soccer, football, track or cross country sporting event. A soft spot for David was his dog Tuck, who Linda tells us is still waiting for him to come home. David will be remembered as a loving family man who never missed an opportunity to tell those around him how proud he was of his family. Cass and David met in 2004 in Dallas while they both worked for Centex in a new division called Centex Destination Properties. They had the opportunity to work and learn together building and creating dynamic products in amazing communities where David who was already great at purchasing and construction became passionate about high-end residential construction. The two of them found a deep friendship, trust, loyalty, passion in making a difference and enjoyed working together. Cass could rely on David and felt that he could read his mind on what he needed which lead to David coming to work with Legacy DCS in 2008. Bringing with him a valuable skill needed in construction of saving money or finding money in projects while ensuring best practices. Together, we had uncountable late nights working at the office, our house, working dinners and countless deadlines to meet the demands of a start-up company. Legacy expanded to the coast building beautiful coastal homes which needed leadership on point due to the extreme working conditions. David had raised his family in Dallas, but he offered to take the promotion and uproot his family to Rockport, Texas. David loved the coastal life expressing that he would love to always live there. This story is only a fragment of David, it's our story, but everyone that worked with him or knew him has their own. David was not a soul that lightly touched this earth, he left a mark on each of us for different reasons. Everyone that knew David or worked with him had their own unique relationship, but we thought we would list some of his character traits that bring a smile to our faces and remind us of what we will be missing…. He worked late and was early to rise He loved spending the weekend with family His kids were his priority and joy He talked about his wife and children at work all the time He would always take peoples stuff at work and hide them He had office antics that kept everyone on their toes He had play names or "AKA" names for everyone He told many off color jokes He knew what was going on in everyone's life and cared He loved Matt's El Ranch and would order the Crenshaw Steak He loved LaPlaya and would eat too many chips and loved the Guacamole He would sleep just about anywhere when he came to town He loved to cook and to stock his liquor cabinet so he could serve everyone He loved the hottest sauces or food that he could possibly eat He always showed up for overnight stays with his clothes in a laundry basket He loved to fish with his kids He loved the coast and his new home with Linda/kids He was always worried about his mom He helped everyone else when they were going through hard times He loved Crown Royal and frozen margaritas He would call you if he knew you were sick and wish you quick recovery He would give advice to people if he knew they needed it. He would start or end meetings with a joke He loved the people in his life He appreciated quality construction Lazy people drove him crazy Bad morals or disloyal people disappointed him He always wanted to learn and grow as a person He was a great friend He was kind and preferred to not speak ill of people He played soccer most of his life and loved to watch it David was VERY frugal David could fill a conference room with his paperwork Above all, David was a teacher to us professionally and personally We can all be sure that he played a great pre-game here on earth before leaving us to go home and that he left a ripple effect that will live on forever in all of us. David will be forever missed and we shall see him again one day. Carrie and Cass Brewer
