The measure of a life is not in years lived, but in the love left behind.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Daniel Joseph Snyman, who left this world peacefully on the 4th December 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Dan was a man of quiet strength, resilience, and generosity. He lived a life marked by unwavering love for his family, and a positive spirit that never faltered even in the face of hardship. His outrageous generosity, humour, and steady wisdom were constants in the lives of all who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Annette, and his children — Andre, Rochelle, Renate, and Donné — who will forever hold his teachings, his pride, and his love close to their hearts. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren — Emily, Katelin, Georgia, Paige, Joshua, and Nathaniel — each a reflection of the legacy he built through love, guidance, and example.

He is also survived by his loving sisters — Rhona, Imelda, Mary, Bernie, and Leora — who shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and family bonds that shaped the man he became.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled, the stories he told, and the quiet but profound impact he had on everyone whose life he touched.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

As i remember uncle Dan, He always been present in our lives. I'm thankful to know him growing up, but he wasn't a man of many words which confused me at times and I found intimidating. Nevertheless I remember him as someone who was generous, loving, supportive and available whenever you needed him Im thankful of the seeds my granny planted in his life and his family, I've seen him flourish because of those prayers and intercession. We have gained a powerful Angel. May his legacy live on, Amen 🙏 From Candy

To my DaddyDan I remember how you got this name lol and sorry but before he was Poppy Pa ,he was ,to me and my sister's Daddy Dan Oh ! how my father was so not impressed. You forced the name And it stuck ! 😅 I remember how you always loved to irritate my father about the smallest of things and us calling you poppy Pa was one of them And would giggle behind his back about it cause his face would turn red I thank God for having a uncle like you, you really were one of a kind From tickling us till we cried as kids To telling me you will not talk to me if I got fat as a teenager To inspiring me into being more doing more as an adult An inspiration you really were Before moving abroad you gave me the most bizarre task , to come back and fix the latrines in South Africa I still dont know how I will do that ( definitely praying about it though 😅) I love you and miss you dearly my Daddy Dan I pray we find peace as a family knowing you are at rest and we will meet again 💙

In honour of a man whose life was defined by wisdom, generosity, and a heart that never stopped giving. My father-in-law was the kind of person who made every room lighter simply by being in it. His wisdom was unique, no matter your age, background, or situation, he had an extraordinary way of meeting you exactly where you were. He could step down or step up to any level, making everyone feel understood, valued, and never judged. His words were calm, thoughtful, and sometimes not what we wanted to hear but always rooted in truth and care. He was a giver in every sense of the word. He gave his time freely, always willing to help, to listen, or to guide. He gave of his resources without hesitation, supporting others quietly, humbly, and from the goodness of his heart. He never raised his voice to gain your attention; instead, it was the wisdom in his delivery that drew you. We will feel his absence deeply, but we carry forward his lessons, his love, and the countless moments he shared with us. His legacy lives on in the people he helped, the family he cherished, and the values he instilled in all of us. May we honour him not only in words, but in the way we choose to live by giving, by caring, and by walking with the same quiet goodness he showed. You are sorely missed.
