February 6th, 1944 - April 18th, 2020
Road to Eternity Life is but a stopping place, a pause in what's to be. A resting place along the road to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, different paths along the way. We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay. Our destination is a place far greater than we know. For some the journey's quicker for some, the journey's slow.. But when the journey finally ends, we'll claim a great reward, and find an everlasting peace, together with the Lord. Eulogy In loving memory of Daniel Alfred Labonte, Dan grew up on a dairy farm in New Market, New Hampshire along with his brother and two sisters. He learned the value of hard work at an early age and carried that with him his entire life. He instilled this work ethnic in his children whom he was extremely proud. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country. His career took him to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East but more importantly it brought him to Boise, Idaho where he met the love of his life Sandi. Dan and Sandi were happily married for over 50 years. After 31 years of dedicated service Dan retired as a Chief Master Sergeant, an incredible accomplishment that accounts for less than 1% of all who enlist. Following his retirement, he returned to Sandi's hometown of Baker City, Oregon where he worked 7 years in Human Resources for the state of Oregon. Following this, he passed his time bartending at the VFW and Eagle's Lodge and volunteering as a driver for the Disabled American Veterans. Selflessly, he devoted several hours driving between local areas and the Boise VA Medical Center to support fellow veterans, sometimes spending the entire day waiting for their appointments. Throughout his life, Dan enjoyed bowling, golfing, camping, and fishing. He truly lived life to the fullest with simple pleasures-largely by just talking with friends and family. He loved to make people smile and bring cheer, often he could be heard singing his favorite songs or speaking sayings such as "little girls have pretty curls, but I like Oreos." On occasions, you can catch Dan dancing, even the "floss". He was a kind soul that brought much happiness to all that were lucky enough to know him and he will be greatly missed. Dan, you will forever be in our hearts...until we see you again.
