Loved Ones

Weep not for me though I have gone into that gentle night. Grieve if you will, but not for long, Upon my soul’s sweet fight. I am at peace, my soul’s at rest, there is no need for tears. For with your love, I was so blessed, For all those many years. There is no pain, I suffer not, the fear is now all gone. So, put now these things out of your thoughts, For In your memory, I live on. Remember not my fight for breath, Remember not the strife, Please do not dwell on my death. But celebrate my life.

On August 8th, 2020 we had to say good-bye to Rose (Danny's mother). At the time, we thought there could be no worse pain, but we had no idea how wrong we were. On the evening of October 9th, 2020, in Boca Raton Florida, the Cafazzo family was forced to endure an indescribable pain when an unexpected heart attack took Danny from us. Like a thief in the night and with no chance to say good-bye, our family was robbed, and our world was shattered.

Danny was the “Good Son” to Rose and Donald Cafazzo, Husband to Carol Cafazzo, Papa to Isabella Cafazzo, Father to Kerry-Ann (Cafazzo) Hogan and Cristyn (Cafazzo) Masterson, Brother to Stephen and Robert Cafazzo and beloved friend to so many.

Those who had the honor of knowing Danny, know that he was truly an incredible soul. With his infectious laugh, brilliant smile, amazing sense of humor and unwavering loyalty to his family and friends Danny was truly one of a kind. He had a personality that would light up any room and his sense of humor left those in his presence drawn to him. With seamlessly no effort, Danny had the incredible ability to make friends wherever he went.

Although we lost Danny in October, as a result of the pandemic we had been unable to have a service in his honor - until now! The Cafazzo family would like to invite you to join us at the Carmen A. Schiavo club in Everett on April 10th, 2021 to Celebrate Danny's life and honor his memory through shared stories, laughter, good ‘ol Italian cooking, and lots of love. Please see the events section for additional details!

Although details of the event will be placed in the Everett & Boston newspapers in the weeks to follow, we ask that you flood this page with comments, memories, stories, photos and all things Danny! Please also feel free to share the link to this site to help get the word out to the many people Danny has impacted throughout his life.

Danny’s honor, integrity, selflessness and compassion made him a rarity, and the void in which his absence created in this world, can never be filled. Can never be replaced. Can never be duplicated and the pain from the loss of such a mountain of a man will never subside, but it is also for these very same reasons that Danny’s life deserves celebration.

Well its been 6 months and 11 days without you now dad. The pain still feels as strong as it did on day 1, and im learning that is simply never going to change. Some days I can feel you as if your standing right beside me, some times I swear I can even hear you in my ear saying things like "good job kiddo", or "That's my girl, that's my banana". Every day is an internal battle between sadness and rage; I know neither will bring you back but I cant shake the wrongdoing of it all. I cant just let it go, I cant watch my family suffer at the hands of incompetent and unethical people and just let it happen. I get fueled with this intense determination to take on the system and demand accountability, but then the sadness takes over with the realization that it will change nothing, it will not bring you back. We are trying to figure out what the rest of our lives looks like now, and I am trying to see the beauty in it, the happiness in it, the love in it, but to be honest my outlook is still quite cloudy. Clouded by how much death has been consuming our family, clouded by the disappointment of being let down by those we thought we could count on, clouded by so much. Then I remember you always telling me "Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things! Let it go and move on, screw em". I remember that you, mum, Bella, Vin and I - we are solid - WE are family. It has been US against the world, and WE have always figured out a way to come out on top and we will continue to - because of you! We know our foundation, its clear for the first time and we will build upon that foundation each and every day, in your honor. I love you so so very much Daddydukes, I miss you more than words can explain. Keep guiding us, keep sending those signs, keep letting us know you're with us because that is what's keeping us going! <3

To Danny's family-- so sorry to see this just now. I remember Dan as a Scout in Troop 38, and later through the Schiavo Club. Prayers for sure.

I've lost count of how many times I've sat down to write this tribute! Each time I am flooded with all the amazing memories and am at a loss of where to even start! Never in my life did I think there would come a day that you would not be here with me! You are my best friend, my go-to for advice, my moral compass, my biggest supporter and the most loyal and unwavering, pillar of strength throughout my entire life. The bond you and I share, is one of the most precious parts of my life and I will hold onto that, with white knuckles, until it it my turn to take that last breathe. We shared such a close and honest relationship, we talked about any and everything and for that reason I am at least able to say that no words were left unsaid between us! We both always knew just how much we loved each other and that is the only thing that has given me a bit of peace - My dad KNEW exactly how much I love him, how much I adore him, how much I idolize him, how much I look up to him and how much he means to me. This world will never be as bright as it was while you were here with us. We will never be the same as we were when you were here with us. We are broken now, but we will find a way to heal. We will find a way to live the kind of life you wanted us to - one of happiness, laughter, adventures and GREATNESS. Because you the greatest man! No words can explain or express how much I love you and how much I miss you! But we are looking forward to celebrating you the way you deserve!

Danny, and the Cafazzo family were like my second family.growing up. Danny treated me like a daughter. He was not only present in every way for his kids, but for his “adopted” kids too. From driving us everywhere, to I’ll buy you fly. Danny loved having us all camped out at his out weekends or week days. I’m lucky to have known him and been apart of his family. Caring, compassionate and loyal. The best father and husband. ♥️
