Forever in our hearts!
Daisy “Lil D” Montgomery was born March 19, 1979 to Darlene Montgomery and Dave Freeman in Chicago, IL. Daisy received her education through the Chicago Public School system, where she excelled academically at Wendell Phillips Academy High School. Additionally, Daisy studied Nursing at Heartland Community College in Normal, IL.
Daisy is known for her compassion, empathy, and patience toward others. She was certified as a Nursing Assistant. She went on to enjoy a career as a CNA. Daisy loved her work as a CNA. She said it gave her the opportunity to do what she loved most, helping others. Daisy was an inspiration to her family and community. She sat on the Youth & Family Commission for the City of Sun Prairie helping to improve the lives of families in her city. She also worked alongside her husband Deacon Anthony at Church of Acts Ministries where she often led catering for special events.
Daisy had the ability to connect and communicate with people from all walks of life. Whether she was meeting with the city councilman, a childhood friend, or a homeless person she had a positive impact on all she met. She had a special gift to be able to bring joy through humor, love, and delicious cooking. For leisure Daisy enjoyed spending time with family, reading, music, games, dancing, shopping, and cooking. Cooking was always a joy for her. It was the small things in life that made her happiest.
Daisy had a special affection for her siblings, which she expressed in many ways. She was truly a blessing to each. Daisy always found room to invite others into the family. Friends quickly became family over amazingly crafted meals.
Daisy was preceded in death by her father Dave Freeman, loving mother Darlene Montgomery, brother Richard, and husband Anthony Hall.
She leaves to remember and celebrate her life husband Boris Wesley, two sisters: Spring (Timothy), and Tina Montgomery (Jack). Five brothers: Jerden, Gerald, Antonio (LeKeshia), Victor (Malikah), and Jimmie Montgomery. Honorary children Dakwaun Montgomery (Leanne), Mecca Gamble, Akilah Wallace, and Ja’Siyah Montgomery. Stepchildren Anthony Jr., Myeisha and Armmani Hall, nieces & nephews: Elijah, Gerald Jr, Antonio, Kala, Rayshawn, Tonisha, Tosheka, Divia, Mecca, Nailah, Victor Jr, and Benjamin. And a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Daisy was a light that truly shined bright!
