Cynthia Dowler
April 4th, 1962 - September 19th, 2020
April 4th, 1962 - September 19th, 2020
Cynthia passed way too early for any of us, on Saturday, September 19th 2020 after a long battle with heart and lung disease. She was a loving, faithful daughter to mom, Sara Baca and late father, Joe Baca. Born April 4th, 1962 in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she remained a lifelong resident. (Never dreamed of being too far away from her momma whom she loved beyond loving.)
Cynthia was a cherished wife to Ramon Orozco (her partner in crime), and fiercely dedicated to her faith, family, and friends. She devoted all of herself to being the best mom and role-model to her five sons, Donald Dowler, Lucas Tenorio, Dallas Baca, and Orlando and Raymond Orozco. She was especially proud to be grandma to Oliva and Savannah. And was loved dearly by brother Aaron Underwood, and sisters, Deborah Baca (late), Germaine Johnson, and Jo Paulla Baca, as well as her four nephews (Dillon Villareal, Jecquard Johnson, Antone Johnson, Teric Baca), four great-nieces (Olivia, Mia, Anaya, Emma) and two great-nephews (Anthony, Aiden).
Not surprisingly she was also a phenomenal business-woman who built a successful career as a Financial Advisor, which turned out to be the perfect profession for her. It gave her the capacity to provide financial guidance, and family-like support for thousands of clients for 30+ years with the same company. So even when Aetna Financial Services was bought out by ING Financial, and ING Financial changed to Voya Financial, Cynthia remained the constant for her clients without fail. (If Cynthia were here, she would say, “Thank you Jan Reynolds for the start, and for everything.”)
Besides her passion for family and work, Cynthia loved hosting people at her home (no need for any formal celebration, just come over), and loved her Dallas Cowboys (so much so that being a season ticket holder wasn’t enough, she also named her son Dallas).
She had a heart bigger than her body, and a love of life that we were all blessed to be a part of.
Really, Cynthia never met a stranger, and considered everyone a friend, and every friend a family member. And those who will take any lessons that they learned from Cynthia to heart will honor her life by making sure you make a burrito for the school security guards in the morning, that the UPS drivers gets a card at Christmas, that every wayward person has a place to go for the holidays, every freezer has a few bags of green chile in it, every pocket has enough cash in it to pay bills, and everyone in the room gets a smile and has a cold drink in their hand and friend at their side.

Cynthia, what a great woman. You always made time for me no matter how busy you were. We traded so many stories of family that I felt like one of yours. The world is a little emptier without you but I know God needed you more. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. May they take comfort in how you loved and how many hold you in their heart. What a legacy you have left.

We just heard of Cynthia's passing. The world is a quieter place without her love and energy. She was our advisor and friend for over 20 years. Below is a poem that makes us think of her. All our love to her family at this time of loss. WE REMEMBER HER In the rising of the sun and its going down, We remember her; In the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter, We remember her; In the opening of buds and in the rebirth of spring, We remember her; In the blueness of the sky and in the warmth of summer, We remember her; In the rustling of leaves and the beauty of autumn, We remember her; In the beginning of the year and when it ends, We remember her; When we are weary and in need of strength, We remember her; When we are lost and sick at heart, We remember her; When we have joys we yearn to share, We remember her; So long as we live, she too shall live, for she is now part of us as, We remember her. All our love, Jim and Charlene Rohr

To the Dowler Family, my deepest condolences to you all. I learned of Cynthia's passing from a letter sent by VOYA. After reading that letter, the tributes to her, and my own experience with Cynthia as my financial consultant, I see what a very special person she was. I visited with her periodically to review my financial portfolio. She always provided me with great advise and when we were done talking about that, we talked about he Dallas Cowboys and my LA Rams. My heat goes out to her family, god bless you all.

We just heard of Cynthia’s passing through a VOYA letter. What a huge loss to her family and to the world she is. Matt and I loved and trusted Cynthia from the first time we walked into her office 8 years ago. She was brilliant, but also warm, funny and a strong woman of God. We will miss her and likely have a hard time finding someone so easily talked to about something so hard for both of us to grasp. (And, she never laughed at that.) She brought comfort and we always knew she was never going to steer us wrong. Although we never met them, we heard stories :) and our hearts go out to her much, much loved family. Cynthia was so much bigger than her body and huge brilliance, love and laughter. We are sad but know that she is finally out of pain and struggle and laughing in heaven. We look forward to laughing again with her one day. Our greatest sympathies.

I just learned of Cynthia’s passing and it felt like I had just been kicked in the stomach. I have been meaning to call Cynthia for several days now not knowing that she had already passed(on my birthday). I shall miss her greatly. She was a lovely special lady and the world is much poorer for her leaving it. I shall especially miss our football talks. Being a Philadelphia fan you can imagine the fun we had with that. I remember one year when I came to see her for our yearly review of my finances she made special preparations. When I walked into her office she had ALL of her Dallas Cowboy things on the desk facing me. When I made the appointment I jokingly told her assistant that I did not want to discuss football(the Cowboys had just beaten the Eagles) and that note was pinned up(it was still there the last time I was in her office. A bit of sunshine has left my life as I am sure is true of anyone who ever knew Cynthia. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family for their/our loss.
