The Man the Myth the Legend

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Curt Leonard Pelow. Curt passed away peacefully, at home on Monday June 3rd 2024 surrounded by his loving family and his precious dogs Ace and Gracie at the age of 72. Curt was the beloved husband of Sharlene Pelow for 29 years. Predeceased by father Doug Pelow and Mother Peggy Pelow. Brother to Suzanne, Cheryl, Paul and loving little sister Jane. He was the loving father of Lena Pelow (James), Tiffany Smyth (Shane), Carrie Pelow (James), Suzanne Pelow (Greg), and Lisa Hawryliuk (Colin), loving stepfather of Linda Flynn (Patrick), and Andrew Noseworthy, loving Grandfather of Alexxis, Shea (Patrick), Katelyn, Austin, Dawson, Cole, Keegan, Kaleb, Josie,Kyle, Corey and The Great One to Easton, Ryker and Declan. Step Grandfather to Shelby, Jake, Tiffany, Ashley and Andrew

Curt loved the outdoors and animals. He enjoyed nature and spending time at the lake.  He loved to fish and he especially loved the challenge of catching walleye. He always traveled with his fishing stuff as he never knew what lake he would drive by and always wanted to cast a line. Curt loved to camp.  When he was younger, he had many trips in a camping van with all his girls in tow.  He also loved the game of golf and enjoyed many days on the course teeing off straight down the fairway.  Curt was a hardcore Ottawa Senators Fan that loved razing his daughters, his stepson and his friends alike about his team winning and beating the Leaf’s and the Pittsburgh Penguins.   He was always one for making everyone laugh and feel joy with his witty one liners and jokes.  Curt was always a loving and supporting father/stepfather/grandfather/Brother/Son.  He never failed to save his girls when they were in a jam.  He was always there for them whether they were broken down on a side road, had started a project too big to finish, or needed him to find a way to get them out of the trouble they may have stumbled into.   Curt enjoyed tinkering with cars and stopping at the car nights and socializing with his friends. He enjoyed his dart leagues and meeting new friends.  Curt loved adventures and to travel, even if it was just for a day.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at the Legend of Fazio’s located at 33 Simcoe St S, Oshawa, Ontario on July 7th 1pm -5 pm. The family welcomes all to come and share stories and memories they may have of Curt.  If desired in memory of Curt, donations can be made to local Animal Shelter.

How did you meet Curt?

You were a gem Curt. Great dad. And step- dad - even if you were a Sens fan. I never knew when you would pop into Holiday Flynn but we were always happy to see you. Your big Muskie will be displayed proudly forever. Hope the fish are biting. We miss you. Love, Linda and Patrick
