Cortney Dewayne Hartman

October 10th, 1978 - April 28th, 2022

October 10th, 1978 - April 28th, 2022

Cortney Dewayne Hartman, a level 2 Technician in Industrial Radiography for Versa Integrity Group, lived in Odessa, Tx. passed away on April 29, 2022. He tragically left us far too soon.

Cortney is survived by his loyal wife, Paula Jernigan Hartman, mother Lisa Hartman, sister Chantel Hartman, brother Derrick Hartman, children Skylar and Derrick Hartman, Jackson Keppard, Braxton Lane, uncle John Hartman, uncle Rodney Streety and a host of family and friends.

Cortney was born in Alabama on October 10, 1978, to Lisa Hartman. He went to Montgomery Public Schools and was a true "roll tides roll" fan. He began his career at the Alabama Department of Corrections and moved on to serve as a Team Leader at the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing, Alabama. Cortney then came to Texas and became a Technician in Industrial Radiography. He worked across Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.

Robert Mclaren, Operations Supervisor of Versa Integrity Group, had this to say, "Cortney was not only a great worker, but he was also a great man, leader, and father. He never quit; he never gave up. Even in his 40s, he was still eager to learn and humble enough to listen. He was the type of man that could take on any task and succeed above and beyond expectations. He was everyone's friend. Everyone I have met that knew him has only great memories and experiences to share... What happened to him was a tragedy that struck deep into the hearts of those who loved and cared for him. His life on earth may have been cut short, but his life in heaven will be eternal."

Cortney was an avid Boston Celtics, Alabama Crimson Tide fan, and marksman. Cooking was his passion and he spent many hours around the grill, making family and friends very happy. His jovial spirit will always be remembered and greatly missed. His faith was always evident in his many acts of kindness. Cortney's entrepreneurial spirit was inspiring. He helped many people get a fair start.

On Saturday, May 14, at 3 pm, a memorial service will be held at the Sunset Memorial Garden and Funeral Home. Pastor Ellis Lane will officiate.
