Colin "Col" John Price

Colin in the middle, Carol on the right and Helen on the left Colin was my big brother-Born 10 years before me, he was my hero. We used to play tumble games out the back of our great home in Avalon Beach. I was devastated when he joined the Navy when he was only 16, leaving me with my gorgeous little sister, Helen-who wasn’t so good at tumbling. I would send Colin cards and letters when he was at sea, which was probably an embarrassment to him. Helen and I attended his wedding to Maureen in 1972, and over the 53 years of their outstanding marriage, I was a frequent visitor to their homes-either in Australia or overseas. I have seen their greatest accomplishments-their two children, Darren and Kim grow up, get married and have 3 children each (overachievers!). I have always felt a strong bond of love for Colin-even though he could be a bit patronizing at times. I admired him greatly and I would say he lived his life the way he wanted to. He was successful at work, in his marriage and as a father- . and he had a wonderful time doing it!
