I can still remember my very first time meeting Chris, it happened over a phone call. I was trying to date this girl and she was at my house, and her phone kept ringing. Finally I asked if I could answer it, and when I did Chris was on the other end. I kindly asked him to stop calling her, and he asked if I was her dad. When I said no, he asked if I owned her, and I said no, so he told me he would likely keep calling her. By the end of the conversation and after multiple times of him telling me he would beat me and my best friends asses if we ever came to Whitehall, I hung up laughing and with a new friend. Fast forward a couple years and I found myself camping with Chris at Clark Canyon, and him daring me to get on my four wheeler naked and pass Josh and Ua while being naked. After declining, he said, well looks like I have to, and he stripped butt naked, got on his yellow yfz and proceeded to race down the mountain only wearing a big grin, and passing Josh and Ua on his way. Chris had a way to make bad times better, and good times grander. I can’t remember ever being in a bad mood while being around him. Chris is the one that introduced me to my wife, and introduced my best friend to his wife. Between Josh and I, we have over 21 years of marriage because of Chris. Chris brought out the best in everyone, and just last summer I was FaceTimeing him while Russel and I came back from Idaho, and he ended up challenging us to a chug and cartwheel competition, so there Russ and I were on the side of the interstate, on a call with Chris, cartwheeling down the black top as 30 year old men, while Chris laughed uncontrollably on the other end. He always knew when to call, and he always knew what to say. My heart breaks for Steph, his fur baby, and the thousands of people who have known him as friend and family. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, friendship, determination, and the ability to become friends with anyone he met. I wish I could write every Chris story down, and that I could relive them all, but for now I’ll leave with a quote from the famous Winnie the Pooh, “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” So long old friend, I am sad to say only the good die young.

I ALWAYS had fun when Chris was around! One of my favorite memories of him was when we’re dancing at Woody’s doing the West Coast Swing. He started dancing with a woman (probably in her 70’s) who was dancing by herself and treated her like like the belle of the ball! He was so sweet and genuine and just always wanted to make people around him feel good and laugh hard. He would make you laugh until you cried. This pic was from an epic night at Loaded Barrel Tavern with my best friend from Guam. Also, the night where Josh and Chris pretended that they were from the movie “Good Will Hunting” and told everyone that Josh was a janitor at a college for really smart people and at night he would work out math problems on the board that the professors couldn’t even solve. It was ridiculous and hilarious!

Trying to find the right words to describe Chris and reading through this memories is impossible to do without balling my eyes out. Chris was the type of kid that made everyone around him a better person Chris had a way about him of always telling the truth wether people wanted to hear it or not but he never offended anybody. He was always ok with being the butt of a joke but he would always be quick with a comeback that was a lot more intelligent then whatever was said first. I feel very lucky that In high school we got to spend most everyday in summer at some sort of a basketball event with Chris In my opinion Chris was the poster child for what a high school athlete should be. I never one time heard him complain about any disadvantage that he may have had and when he got the chance to play he gave it everything he had and then more. An attribute that he took to everything he ever did. The best thing Chris ever did for the basketball team was that he was the ultimate teammate No matter what level the game was at or who the kid was or even if he was getting any playing time he always had the biggest smile on his face kept the mood light and truly loved watching others have success. Whenever things weren’t going so well he was always the first kid to be right there to pick you up and get you going again. And also last time I checked I think there is still a big hole in the locker room wall from the Loyola coaches after Chris put up a 40 burger on them. The last time I talked to Chris I asked him how everything is going and he said the perfect response. He said that he is so lucky. He has a beautiful amazing wife and they have a great marriage He had just started working out again and it was making his mind and body feel great. He loved his job and where he lived. When I first heard the news I thought how unfair this was for Chris and his family and everyone that loved him. At such a young age he still had so many great things ahead of him I know that chris was very strong about religion and we are always taught that this life is just a testing ground to prove to god our worth. I believe that chris proved what type of a kid he was and god had another calling for him at this moment. I know that this is going to hurt for a long long time and a part of me prolly will never heal all the way but I know that someday we will all get to see you again and until then keep looking down and take care of us. Love ya kid

i can’t not be more thankful to have had the chance to know someone with so much positivity and light, i will always remember these things, you always tricking me into rubbing your feet, saying you would give me x amount of doll hairs, or the countless hours you spent talking to me and my friends making us laugh, listening to me rant about the latest drama or thing that happened. scaring me half to death by talking to me over a camera, and just being the light to help when needed. i can’t wait to see you again big bro miss ya

The first time I saw Chris was at my high school and he was speaking to us about car safety at an assembly. This world is so short my mom got me a job at the airport at a kiosk and Chris was also working there. I remembered him but couldn’t remember from where. We eventually figured it out because he brought up the fact that he spoke at schools about his accident and we put two and two together. Fast forward I had been working there for a couple months very part time and I had a second job. I was 17 at the time and really didn’t like the kiosk job. Lol Anyway one day Chris said he had to leave early and left like 4 hours before closing. I got tired of being there so about one hour before close I left and got on the bus. Right before the bus pulled off Chris calls and goes “ Hey Iesha how Is it going ?” I was like It’s going good. He was like oh yeah ? Where are you ? I was like closing up. He was like I see you on the bus right now. He would remind me everyday about that since then. Lol I honestly just wasn’t good at the job. He was so charismatic and had a great personality. Everyone that comes across him absolutely loves him. Praying for your family Chris. May you Rest In Peace
