Christopher John Duggan lost his battle with cancer on December 21, 2019 only 3 short months after diagnosis. He was living in Parksville, BC at the time. He was 52 years young. Chris was an artistic, funny, smart and talented man. In the 1980's he was a hairdresser in Kelowna, BC, specializing in New Wave and punk hair styles. He loved New Wave, Punk and Industrial music. His favourite artists were Skinny Puppy and Peter Gabriel just to name a couple. He was an avid pool player in the 1990's, winning many competitions in Vancouver, BC. He could often be found playing pool at "The Commodore" or the "Automotive" in downtown Vancouver. He managed successful fine dining restaurants in Vancouver, West Vancouver and Kelowna, BC in the 2000's before moving to Vancouver Island in 2013. He loved board games and trivia games and was quite competitive. He won at almost everything he tried. I had known Chris since 1992 and miss the fun and good times we used to have. We had a very close bond. Unfortunately I was unable to see him in person when he passed away. I wished I could have. It gives me comfort that although I had no idea he passed away at 8:45pm that night (until I was told later), but I knew the moment he passed away without anyone telling me. I told my husband at 8:43 that I felt Chris dying at that very moment. It was as if his soul passed through mine as he left the earth. I feel like he left a piece of his soul with me. Imagine my shock when I found out he passed at 8:45. I had my doubts about after-life, heaven, souls and God. After this experience, I know for sure that something happens when you pass away other than just dying. Thank you Chris for saying goodbye before you left this earth. There is no more pain, no more suffering and no more tears Christopher. You are free and at peace.
