David Christopher Shope

Worked with D.C. (as we all called him) for quite a few years! He was always funny and quick whitted with comebacks when we'd all joke around! He was always there for you whether it was for help, required his skills of welding or fabrication of things that we STILL use to this day! He also didn't take ANYONES attitude even from his superiors! Back in '08, he offered to pick me when I didn't have a ride to go to a fellow coworkers viewing service who had passed! It was out of his way to pick me up and drop me off but didn't hesitate to do so because he loved helping and doing what he could for those he cared for as well as complete strangers! Us younger guys at work used to call him dad or papaw just to tease him and he'd take off after us but all was in good fun! Like I said, a lot of things he fabricated over 10 years ago are still used daily, so will definitely be looking at those improvements differently now! Many of us at Advics will miss him dearly! I'm grateful for the many nights and shifts I had to work with him, the memories both at work as well as outside of work! Rest easy D.C.
