This site is to share and reflect on memories of Chris Hancock.
Chris was born and bred in Porthmadog. A fluent Welsh speaker Chris left the mountains of North Wales to further his education at the University of Huddersfield achieving a Hons degree in Geography. He then topped that up with a MSc in Environmental Science at the University of Salford.
His geography degree failed to guide him back to Wales; instead he started his successful career in Pharma sales. Working as a sales rep in the North of England, his natural talent for sales and charismatic way with people soon saw him working through the ranks and culminating in Directorship in Cambridge. His knowledgeable experience in the field combined with his caring, approachable nature and an inclusive management style gained him great respect from his field management team, sales representatives and colleagues at Head office.Chris had a consistent focus on creating a passionate, honest and innovative culture. In later years, staying within Life Sciences, he branched out into recruitment and a training capacity, using his natural skills, broad experience, his natural persona and passion to successfully help candidates achieve their own individual goals. In only the way Chris could – through kindness.
His personal and career life were populated with so many people and each and every one will probably have a story or two to share, whether it be a picture, video or simply shared memories.
A selection of your memories will be shared with his closest family and his children as a lasting memento of Chris.

I had the honour of working alongside Chris for many years. While it's easy to speak about his outstanding professional skills, what truly set him apart was the person he was. Kind-hearted, genuine, and deeply passionate. Chris was always a joy to be around, and he never lost touch with his roots. His pride as a Welshman was evident, and he'd never let us forget it - especially over a beer at conference! And speaking of conferences, his ability to hold a room on ~2hrs sleep was incredible! He always looked like he was having the time of his life. Chris left an indelible mark on my early career and my later life. I just wished we’d caught up for that dinner we promised… You will be missed by all, Chris.

Chris was always thoughtful, genuine, measured and supportive. He had a joy for life and what you saw was what you got. He influenced the lives of many people & I was fortunate to work with Chris at Napp/Mundipharma and see him develop as a person and as an authentic leader of people. He leaves a great many positive memories amongst a great many people and will be sadly missed.

Chris made you feel valued, he listened and truly cared. He was pure joy and brought that sparkle into any room. There was always laughter, a lot of banter and so much fun to be had when he was involved. Chris was probably my first experience of what great leadership can look like. He was inclusive, open and honest and really brought the best out in people. Rest in peace Chris, shine bright up there xxx

Early on in my career at Napp I was lucky enough to have Chris as my line manager for a couple of years. A true gent with a calming nature, my medical secretaries would very much look forward to his visits. He had that way of being able to talk to everyone, We shared many a good time all of us, and it was a pleasure to watch as Chris' career took off. He showed us all great leadership with a perfect mix of respect and empathy. From him I learned the important qualities of a successful manager and how to bring out the best in people. In every conversation I had with Chris he would mention his children...so proud he was of them We all looked forward to Chris' stints on stage with his humour and motivation. Ahead of his time, he looked so dapper in his pink shirts, before pink was the thing to wear x Wear it well up there Chris

I was lucky enough to meet Chris through working with him - officially during this time, he was a colleague and also a boss but in reality, he was a friend. His warm, authentic, caring, fun loving and hilarious nature was infectious. You would always want to sit at Chris’s end of the table when meeting up in a group as you knew it would be a good night. I have so many amazing memories of times spent with Chris… racing cars on track days… 72hrs in Miami where we clocked more hours sleep on the plane than we did in Miami… Budapest where we laughed harder than I can ever remember - Chris knew how to make the best of life! I recently bumped into Chris at a football tournament that our daughters were both playing at and he was bursting with pride regaling with stories about how much Keira was enjoying playing - as ever, he was always the proudest of fathers. Chris was a bright light in so many people’s lives and he will leave that light on in all of our memories.
