Cheryl Kay Grove

Cheryl Grove was born November 8, 1955 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Richard Grove and Esther Grove. She was the oldest of 2. The family relocated to San Jose, CA in 1960.

Cheryl attended De Anza College in Cupertino, CA and graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Associates Degree in Nursing in 1990. She relocated to Modesto, CA in 1992 to begin her nursing career at Doctors Medical Center in the Intensive Care Unit. She proudly obtained her CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification in 1995. Cheryl worked in several hospitals in the Central Valley and Bay Area throughout her 20 year hospital career. In 2010, she obtained her Masters Degree in Nursing Education from Walden University and began teaching in the Nursing program at University of Phoenix in Modesto, CA. Nursing and teaching the next generation of nurses was among her proudest achievements.

Cheryl retired in 2014 and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, following politics, listening to music (Prince "Little Red Corvet" and Hall & Oates "Maneater" were some favorites), loved her plants, and enjoyed relaxing. 

Cheryl was a single parent who worked hard to raise her daughters. She is survived by her daughters Abby and Hannah, and her grandchildren Zane and Ray (Hannah). Cheryl passed on January 27, 2024.
