March 2nd, 1960 - August 7th, 2021
Cheryl Lynn Follmann, 61, passed peacefully on August 7, 2021 after a battle with cancer. She was born to Bill and Mary Clinger on March 2, 1960.
While married to Kenneth, together they raised three children; Anthony (Tiff), Joseph, and Kevin (Krystal). She is survived by her three grandchildren; Samuel, Jonathan, and Ethan. She is also survived by her brother Thomas (Amy) and joins her brother William (Mary) and sister Denise (Brian).
Cheryl's battle with cancer was brief, and though it was what eventually brought her home to God, it is not what took her from her family. Cheryl suffered from a mental illness that separated her from her children and loved ones. By His grace, she was able to spend her last year with her children, who were able to be by her side until her passing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) in her name. Please make donations to the URL below.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 28th, at 10 A.M., located at Faith Presbyterian Church, 2107 Lincoln Rd, McHenry, IL 60051.

I don’t have any pictures, but my earliest memories were you picking me and Kevin up from Popeyes after school EVERY WEEK, when me and Kevin first met. I didn’t meet you much, since I left after high school, but even when I came home for leave, I remember you being the most amazing grandmother to Sammy. I know everything wasn’t all sunshine, and there are up’s and down’s, but these are the memories I have of you…everything else is irrelevant. Lastly, I’m happy you are finally home with your boys, and no longer have to be tormented by the demons you’ve dealt with.

This photo was taken Halloween 2020. Cheryl went trick or treating with us. Some random things I remember from Cheryl: She kept her nail polish in the fridge She always had a diet Pepsi She loved to dance She loved to play rock band She took me to get my driver's license She loved her boys -even when her mind convinced her they were doing things they shouldn't She absolutely adored her grandchildren She made the best pepper steak She taught me how to make really yummy breakfast potatoes She had a huge heart and an infectious personality. RIP Cheryl, you will be remembered for all your positives <3

I have three photos to share today. This was around 1997. I think it was a reunion in Wonderlake. Been thinking of aunt Cheryl a lot and have gone through some albums that haven't been opened in years. We shared a birthday - March 2 - Cheryl's came 10 years earlier than mine. I miss her awesome sense of humor and her spirit.
