Chauncey Powell Jr., the only son of Chauncey Powell Sr. and Zella Powell was born in Cleveland, Ohio. His two sisters survive him – Sharon Powell and Brenda Riddley, his nephew – Donovan Riddley, his nieces – Courtney Dueñez and Brittany Muñoz, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Chauncey Powell was formerly married to Bridget Marleau.
Chauncey Powell Jr. dedicated his life to serve Jehovah God and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses when he was a teen. He served Jehovah faithfully until the day he fell asleep in death. He graduated from Max Hayes High School, a career and technical high school. Upon graduation, Chauncey went to work at International Harvester, where he enjoyed a rewarding career as a Diesel Mechanic and Parts Manager for over 20 years. He loved to travel, leading him to his next job at United Airlines, where he worked for many years.
Chauncey loved life. Among many other things, he loved traveling, cars, chocolate milkshakes, tuna casserole, playful name-calling with his sister Sharon, and showering those he loved with gifts. Chauncey had fond memories of growing up in a close-knit family with many beloved cousins. Chauncey particularly enjoyed helping disadvantaged ones learn about Jehovah God through his Word, the Bible.
Chauncey had a heart of gold and touched the hearts of many. Let’s hold on to the beautiful memories of him and make it a goal to be there in the earthly paradise Jehovah has promised to come to welcome him back. This is not goodbye, but see you again soon, Chauncey!
Acts 24:15 – “And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.”

I it most saddening to hear that my first husband Chauncey Powell, has past away. It is times like these that we remember how fleeting life can actually be,unfortunately. Knowing the Scriptures can and do bring comfort in times like these John5:28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice". The comfort comes as, No ONE can judge "hearts" like our CREATOR/JEHOVAH GOD, thru Christ Jesus..... Rea Sweeney, Powell, TurRee, his first wife......

I just want to say 'Thank you' for all of the kind words and support. I never knew how many lives Butch touched. So many spoke up after the memorial service and told of experiences of the little things he did to help others. He truly had a heart of gold and would give you his last dollar or the shirt off his back to someone in need. I listened to a message he left on my phone a couple of days before he got sick, I wasn't in need, but this was typical Butch: he called to tell me it was too hot for me to cook, he had picked up some fried chicken for me, and he was on his way to drop it off (always thinking of someone else), Butch will truly be missed, but we draw comfort from knowing that is is no longer in the excruciating pain. He is resting, and in Jehovah's memory. Everyone, thanks again for all of the kind words, support and experiences shared!
