Charles Franklin Simmons

Charles F. Simmons, 78, well known Cisne farm operator and stockman, died at his home in that community following several months illness. Charles Franklin, son of Thompson & Rachael Simmons, was born at Cisne on March 9, 1875. He grew to manhood & spent his entire life in and near the vicinity of his birth. Early in life he united with the Cisne Christian Church. He was married to Ella Elizabeth Rutger on Aug. 5, 1896 and five children were born to this union, two sons dying in infancy. The companion also passed away in March, 1923. He was again united in marriage with Flora Bowles June 10, 1923. Surviving are the widow; two sons, Edward & Ira; a daughter, Marie; two brothers, John & Asa; three sisters, Manda Murphy, Nora Grandstaff, and Laura Rhodes; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Cisne Christian Church with burial in the Cisne Cemetery.
