Loved Ones

I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new. I thought of you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence as I often speak your name. All I have are memories and your picture in a frame Your memory is my keepsake with which I'll never part. God has you in His keeping. I have you in my heart.

Charles Warren Madere, Jr. was born on October 27, 1951 and passed away on May 24, 2020 at the age of 68. He was a native of Garyville and a resident of LaPlace. Charles also known as “Chinee” to family and friends, was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. Charles proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps. Chinee enjoyed his satsuma orchard, and fruit stand where he was known as the “fruit stand guy”. He was caring, compassionate, and literally willing to share the shirt off his back. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Roxane; his sons, Charles Madere III, Lance Madere, Ronnie Newman, Dawn Shampaine (Dennis); siblings, Lottie Benoit, Judy Contreras (Glenn), Harry Madere (Missy), Kathy Louque (Jody); 11 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and 2 godchildren, Kathy Louque and Sadie Templet. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris B. Madere Cambre and Charles W. Madere, Sr.; step father, Douglas W. Cambre, Jr.; grandson, Christian “Cookie” Newman; and niece, Jennie Louque. Thanks goes out to Tulane Medical Center for the compassionate care given during his final stay.
