February 21st, 2009

Carol Sue Tetters Minton, 58 of El Prado, passed away on February 21, 2009. She is no longer suffering and her loving and giving spirit will live on with us. Carol Sue Minton, a/k/a Tetters, a/k/a Tete, passed away at home. Carol was born and raised in Taos and lived here for her 58 years where she was a legal assistant at Cliff Johnsons Law Office, formerly Brandenburg and Johnson, for 38 years. Carol fought the hard fight with cancer for the last year and a half with her one-of-a-kind stubbornness and strength. And who would have guessed that our back woods country girl traveled to Italy over the holidays with her family. Carol is survived by her sister Donna Ormerod, brother Thomas Minton (Carolyn), brother-in-law Phil Ormerod; nephews Patrick Ormerod (Shonna), Kevin Ormerod (Elberta); nieces Leslie Minton Calabrese, Cindy Jarchow (Joe); great nephews Kaelin Ormerod, Hyrum Ormerod, Ammon Ormerod; great nieces Crystal Ormerod, Camryn Calabrese, Aubryanna Jarchow; and many wonderful friends. Carol is preceded in death by her parents John and Eileen Minton and great nephew Porter Ormerod. A graveside service celebrating Carols life will be held on March 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sierra Vista Cemetery in Taos, New Mexico. A potluck reception will be held at her residence in El Prado immediately following the service. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.

Donna, Tom, Phil and families, I saw and spoke to you on the day Carol left us and I felt like I didn't say enough to you. My heart aches so much for all of you to have lost such a wonderful sister and my friend. As you know, Carol and I grew up together and we shared so much of our childhood and teen years. I thank God for the wonderful memories she left us and a "special" friend that will never be forgotten. God has taken her with Him and healed her forever. We will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear friend, It is with shock and numbness that I write these words in the hope they will comfort you in your darkets hours. I know what Carol means to you and you to her. No two sisters could be closer. She fought a long hard battle and has made her place in heaven, she'll be up there watching over you, take solace in that. To me, Carol, you and I will always be stuck in the same time, laughter abounding, Bill Grogan & his mangy goat in the background, and a family I liked to think of mine too. I love you both and always will. Donna your strenght will carry you through and your wisdom will guide you. Much love to you, my best friend. Mel

Oh dear friend, what a shock to read about our Carol. I know what she meant to you and all your family and know there will be a tremendous hole in your life, sisters are, after all, best friends. I will remember all the time we spent together, the three of us, with a smile and know Carol will always be with you. I've been a part of your family mentally if not in actuality and I share your heart ache. She has a special place in Heaven. Your friend for ever, Mel

Carol, Tom & Family I am so sorry to hear of Carol's passing. She was certainly one of a kind. We appreciated the graciousness & comfort she extended to our family when mom & dad passed. We have been friends for many years as were our parents. She will be truly missed. Love, The Burts, Angladas', Mirabals', Stevisons' & Torres Family
