On Tuesday morning, April 30, 2019, Carl Omark of Rahway, New Jersey, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 63 after bravely battling cancer for two years, and did so embracing the family motto: Live Faithfully. Fight Bravely. Die Laughing. Carl was born on October 10, 1955 in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan to William and Dorothy (Ascher) Omark. He grew up on Staten Island, the son of a New York City police officer, attended the prestigious Regis High School in Manhattan for two years, and then graduated from Jackson High School in New Jersey. He went on to receive his bachelor's degree from Rutgers University, and later received a Master of Business Administration from Montclair State University. He went on to work in the commercial real estate business in New York City for more than three decades. With so much love for those around him, Carl enjoyed many hobbies with family and friends. He was an avid reader, and truly enjoyed learning new things. He and his family loved the beach, and they spent many summer days at Island Beach State Park, Sandy Hook, and Asbury Park. He also loved playing golf with his children and close friends and would play at a variety of courses in Monmouth County, New Jersey, his favorite being Hominy Hill. Carl was preceded in death by his father and mother, and is survived by his loving wife Barbara, his son Ryan, his two daughters Lindsey and Allison, his son-in-law Curtis, his granddaughter Lily, his three brothers Randy, John and Mark, his sister Ellen, and many close cousins, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at St. John's United Methodist Church in Hazlet, New Jersey at 11 o'clock a.m. with a luncheon to follow at The Buttonwood Manor in Matawan, New Jersey at 1 o'clock p.m. In honor of Carl, please consider donating or walking with us on Saturday, June 1, 2019 for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk at the Great Lawn in Pier Village.
