She captured our hearts and ran with determination and extraordinary cuteness
It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to the legendary Bubbles The Magic Dog, and release her to the astral plane. We ask you to please share your comments and remembrances here to memorialize the amazing spirit of Bubbles the Magic Dog by adding a “Tribute” or comment on “Mementos” stories.
Bubbles was a mischief seeker, an accomplished music producer, a total beach babe, and fought hard to keep mobile and active for 17 years of loving life.
Always in the mix, she is featured on countless interviews of our music projects and the secret magic sauce producer on at least 14 albums including all of Date Palms, Marielle V Jakobsons, Chuck Johnson, and Saariselka records produced during her lifetime of 2008-2025.
She survived two episodes of paralysis with emergency back surgery at age 2 and and age 12, and then this past year survived two episodes of congestive heart failure before finally succumbing to it just a few weeks after her 17th birthday.
Needless to say, her strong personality, presence and musical taste will be missed.

I will always remember camping with Bubbles and her love of travel and adventure! Hair flowing in the breeze as she walked or traveled in her comfy wagon sniffing the air. Her trot, her gracious co-hosting and her magical queenly presence in her house. But also her adorable and enthusiastic crunching of snacks! She was and is a ray of sunshine in the universe who has graced all our lives.

A favorite memory of Bubbles was her oversight of a summer of DP rehearsals. Always in the middle of the action, she loved the heavy bass vibrations and would let it be known if anything was amiss. She also loved adventures from the beach to the Redwood forest trails. An amazing little being, she leaves an irreplaceable vacancy in our hearts.

When we got Bubbles she was so little but her eyes were so big and expressive and conveyed so much love. That’s what made her the Magic Dog, Her eyes are forever seared in my memory.

What lesson(s) did Bubbles teach you?
Bubbles taught me to listen and pay attention, and she was an example of how to be both ferocious and relaxed. She had such a sensitive spirit and her expressive face always made me laugh. Thank you Bubbles for visiting this plane! Thank you for bringing so much goodness to this life.

My Bubbs!! Oh how I loved our long evening walks in the neighborhood. You always lead the way, never turning back toward the house til we were lost. We made up songs to sing as we walked. I often carried you back home. Once I was upset and crying. You kissed every tear until I was laughing again. I love you angel Bubbs.

What is your earliest memory of Bubbles?
Oh Bubz, I remember when you came into our lives as a wee pup, skittering around the cavernous loft probably wondering what you’ve gotten yourself into when you heard the music we were playing. My favorite thing about you then and to the end was your goofy trot. Short little legs pumping while your tubular body seesaws back and forth with ears floppin’. Grouchy sure, but who could mind after seeing your ridiculously cute gait. Rest on your eternal sunsetting beach. Auntie Aggi
