Just a few words about Brian. He was one of the few people I would consider a “work buddy”. He was always so helpful to me. I’ll remember his kindness every time I work from home on my double monitor setup that he arranged for me! I will miss our talks about video games and movies. I know I will be feeling the loss of his presence in the office heavily.

I have to say I was utterly shocked when I heard this news. It’s so hard to believe that he’s not here anymore. One morning, I had issues with my laptop. Brian dropped what he was doing and started helping right away. While he was doing that, we got to talking. It turns out Brian was friends with a huge number of people that I was also friends with, and who played a large role in my life shaping me into who I am today. Brian was without a doubt a techie guy. I’d also come to find out that between 1995 – 2000 he was on the same local Bulletin Board Services (BBS) that I was on back in the dial up days. He told me what his screen name was on these systems and it turns out him and talked online quite a bit starting all the way back to 1995 when I was a senior in high school. It truly is a small world, and strange at the same time seeing that I had talked to him almost 20 years ago for the first time only to later meet him again at JDA. In life, we sometimes cross paths with people many times without even knowing we did, only to one day later finally meet up and connect. Brian was incredibly smart, patient, and a kind and gentle soul that helped and affected our lives in so many positive ways. I’m stunned by this. Please pass along my condolences to his wife Tami, and let her know we cared a lot about Brian. Thanks, Tim

Great guy and completely bummed when I heard the news. What I thought was the most cool thing about Brian was that he didn’t hesitate to present himself for who he is. If that meant wearing some classy steampunk-like outfit or showing you his latest trinket he found in the deepest corner of a storage room, he wouldn’t stop to think about it. As he talked about some of his collections, hobbies, or experiences, I just envisioned this clever mastermind boss or superhero sitting in his lair, having a slow spinning fan with a light behind it, and him laying out the grand plan and making witty comments while talking through it. He truly was a one of a kind guy and only wished I knew him longer (or back in college or something… I could see that being a great time). - Dooby

Brian was an extremely kind man. He was soft spoken and whimsical, but very focused and tenacious to solve any problem thrown his way. He went above and beyond for everyone that he worked with. He recently set up my Windows 10 machine and was very considerate of my user preferences. J He always offered alternatives and was so amiable. Did you see his “office” on the 3rd floor. I think it really was a storage closet, but sitting in it with computers and parts all around him, it was almost like some kind of spaceship pod. I’m wondering if he felt like it was his command center? J Brian had great style. I would see him in the morning with his hat and scarf and think, you’re rocking that look. Our interactions were few, but I thought highly of him. Tami should know that he is missed. I cannot fathom the struggle of a mind that will not yield the dark thoughts despite a person’s best efforts. I hope her pain subsides and her memories of their time grow.

Tami, I am so sorry for your loss. Brian was always a great support (even for those unofficial Macs) here at the office. He was always willing to help get me through whatever issues I had. He was always patient and kind. I mostly enjoyed our talks about running a mac home server to even sharing some of his knowledge and insights on pocket knives. He was passionate and really good at what he did. He will continue to be missed here. Me and my family are praying for you and yours through this sad and difficult time. Sincerely, Garrett Bane

I’ve never had the actually pleasure of meeting Brian personally. Brain was my IT support here at JDA and we worked in different offices. But what I would like to say about Brian, is he was very memorable to me. He stood out from the many interactions I have with JDA Associates. He had an energy in the way he spoke or even wrote. He had a way to make you feel comfortable in talking with him, even when I have never met him. I am sorry for your loss! - Natalie Gardner
