Farewell Brian. You were always a loving, protective 'big brother' to me and I have only fond memories of the years we shared whilst growing up. God Bless xx

I take this opportunity to thank everyone who made Brian's Memorial Service a beautiful experience. There were many persons involved who came together and put the pieces of this puzzle together for our families. Brian was surprised, I know. I literally felt that he was happy about the entire process. Especially after my meeting with the ministers of Grace Community Church on the Wednesday the week before the service, their prayers at the beginning and end sealed everything for me. Brian approves, I said. Last June, I remembered him reading over the dedication I had written to my mother for her funeral service and he responded: Oh my goodness, I wish someone could write something like this for me. Well Brian, I thought your dedications were amazing! Your characteristics were genuinely and authentically expressed by all who spoke on your behalf. Every soul in that service was touched. Four days before you passed when you said: Dulcie, I'm sorry, but I have to go. I knew it, Brian. I couldn't take the horrible pain away, the doctors couldn't either, and Jesus was calling you home. You may rest now in the arms of Jesus. I miss you, Brian.

I most fondly remember Brian’s sense of humor, may his soul rest in eternal peace.

I first met Brian, way back in September 1989 – in Kingston, Jamaica. I was a young lad of 23 and Brian was 43 (probably) – there has always been doubt about his age, and his mom once snatched his birth certificate from him with menaces, when he had the audacity to snoop round for his birth certificate to verify his age. Opinion varies as to whether Brian was 2 years + or minus his (suspected) age and various documents are differential. Even he, never truly knew. What I do know is this, for almost 30 years, we either competed or collaborated. He was a fine insurance technician – particularly on Business Interruption, where he spent hours debating the topic of ‘proximate damage’. Brian & I became firm friends, with a shared interest of the technicalities of insurance, and also a massive common interest in music. We shared so much affinity on music from R&B to popular and exchanged so many tracks over the years from Aaron Neville & Linda Ronstadt to who know what. Brian was a great advocate for insurance education. He had been a leading lecturer at the Insurance College of Jamaica, and in fact, was the guy who roped me in to do much the same. He had a genuine love for the industry and was proud to be a servant to it. Mate – together we did some good stuff and I won’t forget you! T

Brian, Margaret, Scottie and Karen were much loved neighbors in Jamaica. We remember Brian for his brilliance, dry British wit, great stories and bringing such joy, happiness and love to Margaret and being such a devoted father to Karen. Cheers Brian, our love to you as you reunite with Mags and Scottie, yours was a life well lived. Condolences to Karen and Brian’s family, Love Debbie and Veta Lewis
