Brian Andrew Sears
June 28th, 1964 - October 19th, 2024
June 28th, 1964 - October 19th, 2024
Brian Sears, a cherished man known for his kind, caring and subtly humorous personality, left us on October 19, 2024 after his battle with cancer. Born June 28,1964, Brian lived a life filled with music and love.
He was predeceased by his mother, Ann Sears and is survived by his father, Barry “Skip” Sears, his former wife and friend, Juliette, his three daughters, Rian, Josephine “JoAnn”and Amanda along with their husbands, his brothers Barry and David, his seven grandchildren and countless friends, family and musicians across the USA, Canada, and the UK whose lives were greatly enriched by Brian's presence.
Brian was a Stock Broker/Trader at the NYSE for decades and an esteemed Saxophonist. Music was his language, his solace, and his method of connecting with the world; jazz holding an especially dear place in his heart. The soulful melody he brought to this world continues to reverberate even as he is no longer with us.
His legacy, exemplified by his music and the love of his family, will continue to inspire and guide us. As we grapple with the loss of his physical presence, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on through music and the love he instilled in us.

Thank you for being the best Pop Pop to all the grandkids for close to 15 years. Grateful for you always showing up for Raychel and I all the way up here in Toronto. Your lineage is legendary and strong with JoAnn, Amanda, and I. This isn’t goodbye, it’s see you later. Say hello to Nana, Grandma Josephine, and Jannie for me. Love always, Rian xo

A cherished childhood core memory will always be spending every summer with you, Juliette, JoAnn, and Amanda. Coney Island, Riis Beach, camping in Upstate New York….pretty much anywhere in that red Nissan Sentra with the windows down will forever hold a special place in my heart. Everywhere we would go, you’d have at least one saxophone in your trunk ready to jam or a tennis racquet (as per Dad, Federer was Better-er). A kind, hardworking, handsome, soulful man.

My condolences to the Family. I was fortunate enough to know Brian from working with him on the job and had the honor of performing with him as well. I considered him to be a very close friend, kind person, and will be missed very much but never forgotten.

Hi dad soup 😇 I’m sorry you had to go so soon. Words can’t adequately express just how much you will be missed. Thank you for being an exemplary father and all around stellar human being. You have left an indelible mark on everyone you’ve encountered. The girls and I will miss you terribly. Love you beyond words and see you on the other side. Your forever pally, JoAnn
