Bob Porter

Bob was born in Waterloo, Iowa to Grayce & Harry Porter.

Harry worked on Route 66, so Bob lived in and got to see several states growing up, until his family settled down in Bloomington, California in 1964. 

Bob graduated from Bloomington High School in 1967 and bought a house on Linden Ave.In 1974, he met (and married), Robin. In 1981, they adopted their daughter Kimberly when she was 6 weeks old. Bob and Robin stayed in Bloomington until 2001, when they moved to Yucaipa.

Bob worked for the city of Fontana for just shy of 15 years before he took a job with the city of Rancho Cucamonga, where he worked until he retired in 2010. 

Bob enjoyed spending time camping with Robin and Kim in their RV. They spent many holiday weekends in cooler months in the desert at Glamis, and many warm holiday weekends at Lake Havasu on the Colorado River. 

After Bob retired, he and Robin traveled together in their RV, fulfilling his decades-long dream of visiting every state in the US (and yes, they stayed at least one night in each state for it to count!).

Bob was an active member of the Lance Owners of America (LOA) and made many friends there.

Bob loved his wife and daughter, their cats and dogs (of which there were several), and took great pride in making sure their needs were always met. He also took great joy in working with his son-in-law Shawn to complete finishing a shed for a home office for Kim's business. Bob was a proud and loving grandpa to Isaac (12) and Ethan (4).
