Blake Trutsch, age 44, passed away on June 8, 2025.

Blake was born on November 26, 1980, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and most recently called the road home with his wife, Jennifer Kampfschulte. Together, they lived life on the road as full-time RVers, sharing adventures, laughter, and the everyday joy of being each other’s person.

Blake was a natural problem solver—whether it was fixing a broken RV part in the middle of nowhere or helping a friend through something tough, he showed up. He was steady, funny, thoughtful, and fiercely loyal. He loved the outdoors, quiet mornings, strong coffee, and just about anything that involved tools, wheels, or a challenge.

Alongside Jennifer, Blake was part of the RV LIFE team, where the two of them combined their love for travel and community—helping others navigate the RV lifestyle and creating connections with fellow travelers across the country.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Kampfschulte; his step-children, John (Tana) Kampfschulte and Derek Fosbender; his parents, Jim and Lori Trutsch; and his siblings, April (Ron) Gort and Amanda (Craig) Watson, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; along with countless friends and fellow travelers who will miss his calm presence and kind heart.

A memorial will be planned in the future and announced at a later date.

I met Blake and Jennifer the summer of 2021 when they camp hosted for us. From the moment I met them both, I was taken by their effervescence. Blake became a part of my daily life that summer, as I fondly remember him coming in every day to greet me and chatting over our respective coffees. I remember warm, campfire filled nights seeing Jen and Blake walk by with their little pack of pups and thinking how beautiful they all were. I remember calling Blake for mechanical issues and him solving them easily and quickly every-time, never once panicking. Blake was the kind of man that made you wish for your own “Blake”. The way he and Jen engaged with each other and clearly valued and loved each other was something I always remarked at. He made people’s lives easier, funnier and made the world smarter. Blake was a genuine, kind, loyal soul whose loss has and will continue to affect me deeply. I considered him a friend, regardless of the time between us speaking and will feel his absence greatly. The world is a little bit darker without his light shining in it. To Jen- you are truly one of the strongest, bravest, smartest and kindest women I have had the pleasure of knowing and I have always valued the time we have spent together. Laughing, knitting and farmers markets will always come to mind first when I think of you. I truly appreciate you and want to be able to support you in whatever ways you need/want. Reach out anytime. Love, Syd
