Bill Anderson
January 19th, 1937 - January 4th, 2022
January 19th, 1937 - January 4th, 2022
Bill was born and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. In 1957, he married Joan and went on to adopt Chris and three years later, Kathie. Upon moving to Arivaca, Arizona where they purchased and managed the Arivaca Mercantile, they had their third child, Charlene. After owning the store for 8 years, they sold and moved to Amado, Arizona. Bill did various jobs including driving for the mines in Sahuarita and other organizations.
In 2001, with kids all grown and an itch to be "in town," Bill and Joan moved to Tucson. Unfortunately within a year of moving, Joan passed away. Bill lived independently until a stroke in 2008. Though he was still highly functional, he required assistance and moved in with Chris, her husband, Bill and their daughter, Julisa. During this time, a wonderful lady Victoria started coming to help out. Over the years she became a dear friend/sister and a daugher to Bill. This is where he resided until most recently when he needed more assistance.
Bill's health decilined in a matter of about a month. He had had several health scares and the need for hospice in the end. Because of his faith in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, we are assured of his place in heaven. He is now free and experiencing true life in the presence of His Savior. We are grateful for the time we had with him in this life and will miss him until we see him again.

My dad was a simple guy of simple faith. He loved to eat, be around people, use his hands to fix or make things, to be useful and more than just about anything else - he loved to collect things. He was able to see value in things that most others would consider trash. I like to think of this as the way our heavenly Father sees us. He treasures us and cherishes as the most precious thing even when the world disregards us or counts us as nothing. Knowing my dad was a gift to me from my generous Father who knew the impact he'd have on my life. I can't wait to see you again, Dad, as we will be whole and restored in the presence of our Savior!
