Psalms 23
Beverly Ruth Wade-Lewis, affectionately known as “Beb” or “Bev,” was born on September 3, 1952, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Lemle and Lucille Wade. As the only daughter among six brothers, Beverly naturally embraced the role of caretaker in her family. Her early years were deeply influenced by her faith, having accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Lone Star Baptist Church. Throughout her life, Beverly became a steadfast anchor for her loved ones, offering unwavering love and support.
Beverly's strong faith in God was evident in her daily life. She demonstrated profound trust in His guidance and provision, drawing comfort and encouragement from Psalm 23. Whether in times of peace or trial, she remained committed to God's will and purpose, beginning and ending each day with Him in her heart. Her devotion was further highlighted by her active role as a beloved Sunday school teacher at Mt. Arant Baptist Church, as well as her participation in the church choir and service to various congregations, including Lone Star Baptist and St. James Baptist.
As a mother, Beverly nurtured her four children with endless patience and love, encouraging their dreams and creating cherished family traditions. Her strength and resilience provided a solid foundation for her family, and her presence was always felt, whether through the aroma of her legendary cooking—fried chicken, collard greens, hot water cornbread, and her signature gumbo—or through leading the family in their annual reenactment of the "Twelve Days of Christmas."
Professionally, Beverly had an extraordinary nursing career spanning over twenty years, where she provided compassionate care to those in need. She was a protector for the vulnerable, a comfort to the hurting, and a beacon of joy for those in pain. Known for her grace, understanding, and courage, Beverly's legacy of kindness and compassion is celebrated by both her family and colleagues.
A passionate New Orleans Saints fan, Beverly found joy in sports, often playfully teasing friends and family about their teams. Her infectious laughter and cheerful spirit could light up any room, and she had a unique ability to uplift those around her. Despite life's challenges, Beverly remained strong and faithful, ultimately leaving this world with the words, "well done, my child," echoing in the hearts of those she touched.
Beverly Ruth Wade-Lewis’s life was a testament to love, faith, and joy. Her spirit continues to inspire and bring light to all who knew her, serving as a powerful reminder of the impact one individual can have on the world. She will forever be remembered as a beacon of joy and positivity, spreading love and light wherever she went.
