July 28th, 1940 - July 20th, 2022
The family of Barbara Cuffe announce the passing of a very strong, giving and compassionate wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend to many early in the morning of July 20, 2022, 8 days away from her 82nd birthday. Barbara is survived by her Mother, Thelma Stuart-Linklater, her ever-loving husband Bill (William) Cuffe, and her three children, Leanne (Jim), Julie, and Kareen (Paul). Barbara was engaged in the lives of her grandchildren, Alicia (Devin), Brad (Sarah), Mackenzie (Taylor), Emily (Mitch), Maddison (Zach); and devoted to spending time with her great-grandchildren: Jaymon, Emmett, Bryson, Elias, Alora and Ella. She was a caring sister to Bill (William) Stuart (Linda) and Janice Dew. Barbara will be dearly missed by all.
The Cuffe family would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to Campbell House Palliative Residence, Georgian Triangle Hospice for all the care your staff rendered to Barbara during her time in your care: you helped make the most difficult of times much easier for us all.
In consideration of the pandemic, and the health of many; the family has chosen to offer this memorial webpage - please feel free to add your thoughts, your photos, your funny memories or stories of Barbara and share with those who knew her so that we can create an online celebration of who she was and all that she contributed to our lives.
The photos shared are downloadable by those who comment; if you would like one or two for yourself; or if you would like them all to create a photo memorial book - please take advantage of this capability.
Barbara was interned into her final resting place on July 28, 2022 on what would have been her 82nd birthday. She was surrounded by her Mother, Brother, sister-in-law, Sister, nephew, eldest daughter, middle daughter, and some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. May Barbara find peace and less suffering where she is now; and catch up with those who have left before her.

My Brilliant Mother
by Casey Gamble
When my mother passed away,Her absence left its mark.I'll use her light to guide meWhen this journey of grief feels dark.
The greatest gifts she gave meAre courage, strength and resilience.I wouldn't be able to handle this painIf it wasn't for her brilliance.
Each time I laughed, she'd laugh along. And when I cried, she'd wipe my tears. Each time I fell, she'd help me up.For my wins, she was there to cheer.
She prepared me for the future,Taught me how to face my fears. Now the future is here but she is gone,And everything seems unclear.
She'd been with me from the startWith constant, unwavering love.Though she's moved on from this world,I know she's watching from above.
She would tell me to be strong, now.And continue on without her.So I'll be sure to lead a worthwhile lifeIn honor of my brilliant mother.

Sending prayers and love to you all. Such amazing memories from growing up across the street from you. The euchre group- you knew you weren’t getting a lot of sleep the night your mom was the one hosting euchre!!! And Bindertwine costumes, making Bindertwine dolls, putting together cookie trays for the school to sell for fund raising, Brownies and Girl Guides that Barb was such a huge part of. Such great memories of a wonderful mother, friend and leader. I am so sorry for your loss

My name Is Joe Peterson and I am the cousin of Barb's husband Bill. Barb has been a part of my life since I was 7 years old. I first met Barb when she & Bill were at my Uncle Ralph and Aunt Amelia's house on 6 mile lake in Muskoka. I remember her calling me "Joey" and that is how she has referred to me for 63 years. Bill, Barb & the girls would spend time every year in Chatham where I grew up. We had such a great time together. My mother Frances and my dad Elmer loved Barb (and Bill). We all did. I have vague memories of their home in Rexdale, but I have very vivid memories of their house in Kleinberg. I visited them many times and I remember how welcoming they always were. I especially remember attending several "Binder Twine" festivals in Kleinberg with them. So much fun. On my 40th birthday my wife Cathy arranged as a surprise to have Bill & Barb meet us for brunch in Lewiston, NY, USA. Barb & Bill have always been a constant in my life. After their move to Wasaga I didn't see them as often. Cathy and me did visit several times and it was always such a nice visit. My wife Cathy & Barb had a real connection. Cathy & Barb followed each other on Face Book. Cathy loved Barb. In closing, Barb was a wonderful person. Cathy and I are grateful for having Barbara as part of our life. We miss her. Love Joe & Cathy Peterson

We offer our sincere sympathy as you mourn Barb's death. We remember her fondly as a good friend & neighbour. Barb was always busy but always willing to help. She was accomplished in so many ways & willing to use her talents for the good of our community. We missed her & Bill when they moved away. Good friends & neighbours are never forgotten, even though keeping in touch is quite often difficult. Rest in peace dear friend. ~Jane & John Kean

Pictured here is Barb and her Kleinburg Ladie’s euchre group which started about fifty years ago and continued to the present time. We celebrated our friendships by meeting at Orillia for lunch just before Covid. Many good laughs and stories were shared. She will be missed! My sympathy is extended to all the family.
