Audrey Marie Conley

August 9th, 1938 - May 5th, 2020

August 9th, 1938 - May 5th, 2020

Tuesday May 5, 2020 It is with deep regret we announce the passing of our beloved Audrey Marie Conley, wife, mother, grandmother, nurse and friend and simply a Saint to all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband Jim, sons Bud and Jim, daughters, Lee Ann and Pamela, and Grandchildren Katarina, Konrad and KC. Mother's Day is next weekend and Giving Tuesday is today, and we will celebrate our Mom Audrey today and always to honor her legacy giving, kindness, sparkle, fun and love. She gave of herself every day to always help her family and others in need no matter what. We will miss her every day, but she will live on in our hearts and in our deeds as we to try our best to follow his example to do good while we are here on this precious planet Earth. Audrey was President of her Nursing class and served as a nurse for 40 years at North Kansas City Hospital, Crofton Convalescent Center, and Anne Arundel County Prison. Audrey taught us many lessons, like how to sacrifice and serve others, to work hard, to clean up and to pick yourself up and to face your problems or a path less traveled with fight and Faith - not fear. As Audrey fought to beat Covid-19 we witnessed her strong sprit and calm resolve. She opened her beautiful blue eyes yesterday and showed us that LOVE is really all we need, and love can be found in her and others if we just open our eyes and our hearts to see and feel it. Love will feed our souls and sustain us as we travel in these uncertain times. Love is Phyllis and Kathy, the Prince William hospital nurses, who armed with her protective gear and an Ipad gracefully allowed us to do a live calls with Mom to say our prayers, to tell Audrey how grateful we are for her and to let her know that she has an Army of Angels that are here today and always to help and pray for her to find peace and comfort and love. Love is all the doctors, health care workers, nursing home staff and all who run to help others and to offer assistance. Love is family and friends who have offered support and prayers. Love is breathing in another day and listening to our souls - all will be well. No matter what happens. "Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow; But remember me in every tomorrow, Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, I've only gone to rest a little while. Although my leaving causes pain and grief, My going has eased my hurt and Given me relief. So dry your eyes and remember me, Not as I am now, but as I used to be. Because I will remember you all, And look on with a smile. Understand in your hearts, I've only gone to rest a little while. As long as I have the love of each of you, I can live my life in the hearts of all of you." Her family will be doing a virtual safe distancing 10k run in Audrey's Honor on Mother's Day May 10 and invite you to join us to run in Audrey's honor and to beat Covid-19. In lieu of flowers we ask that you help someone in need and/or donate to the Nystagmus.org to start a scholarship in her name and/or Woman's Alzheimers Association. The burial service is scheduled for Friday, May 8, 2020, 10 a.m. at Stonewall Memorial Garden in 12004 Lee Highway Manassas, Virginia (703)754-4210. A family memorial to celebrate Audrey's life is tentatively scheduled on Audrey's birthday August 9, only if all Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
