This memorial was created for you to share your personal experiences and memories of Aron in any way your heart desires, however small - be it a story, a poem, pictures, videos or any other media so that the world can learn a little more about the amazing person we have lost.

Born 28th July 1990 to Natalie and David Bor, Aron was little brother to Hannah, big brother to Rebecca, Josh, and Fabian, husband to Paula and father to Lily.

Aron lived in the Jewish community of Prestwich, Manchester throughout his childhood, attending and becoming deputy head boy at both Broughton Jewish Primary School and King David High School, where he gained not only incredible GCSE results and lifelong friendships, but also the highest A level grades in his incredibly high-achieving year group.

He attended Imperial College in London, graduating with a first in mathematics, and then completed his FIA in record time to become a fully qualified actuary. He started his actuarial training at Towers Watson in London, and progressed rapidly over ten years, serving as the Head of Reserving at Barbican Insurance Group at the time of his passing.

Aron was extremely successful by all external metrics - whether socially, academically or in his career - but these accolades do not give the full picture of how special a soul Aron was.  He was the definition of a giver. He spent his entire life helping all those around him in any way he could. He was a loving and caring husband, father, son, grandson and great-grandson, showing deference to his elders without exception. He was the ideal big (and little) brother, always ready with advice and unwavering support for his siblings. Since his passing, innumerable friends and colleagues have come forward attesting to the generosity with which Aron gave his time and energy to all who needed, never seeking recognition or asking for anything in return. He always said yes when anyone asked for a favour, however big or small.

Aron embodied patience. Although intellectually brilliant and more capable than his peers, he was accommodating and encouraging to all those in need of a helping hand, always explaining on their level with understanding and compassion, never letting on how easy things were for him. Countless stories have been told that paint the picture of how magnanimous and far-reaching Aron was when it came to helping others. Whether in high school helping friends with GCSEs and A-levels, at university tutoring those studying mathematics (or even physics), or at his various workplaces, the same theme repeats itself from every voice - patience and kindness with no limit.

Aron had multiple groups of friends, but what was remarkable was how well he kept in contact with each individual. From school friends of over 30 years, to those he made at yeshiva, university, work and elsewhere - he managed to form deep and personal connections with countless people, all of whom truly respected and admired him. There was no criteria for being Aron's friend, because Aron never thought himself better than anyone.

Aron was a thinker. He read widely, both fiction and non-fiction, taking great pleasure in mulling distinct ideas over in his head in order to find astute connections between disciplines, whilst always remaining humble when sharing his thoughts with others, ever open to debate. He took after his father in being a passionate runner, completing multiple competitive races without ever complaining or showing off - he just ran for the love of running.

After beginning to date in October 2017 after knowing her for some time (their first encounter was actually in the youth movement Bnei Akiva many years earlier at the tender age of 12), Aron married the love of his life, Paula (née Morrell), on 23rd June 2021. Aron was taken with Paula immediately. His love for Paula shone through via his words of admiration and love towards her. Not too long after their wedding they welcomed Lily, their beautiful daughter, on 26th November 2021. Lily brought out of Aron a  new level of tenderness that was rarely seen before. Lily let the world see what an incredible hands-on father Aron was; he was completely besotted her. In their three years together, Lily and Aron shared many precious moments filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Watching them together showed in real time the precious bond that formed between a gorgeous young girl and her incredible father. Paula and Lilly were Aron’s world - he was an amazing husband and father, relishing every minute he spent with them. Again, he led by example. He brought his calmness and incredible capabilities to marriage and fatherhood while also finding time to stay in touch and give to his wider family and friends.

There was no one like Aron. His unique combination of ability, kindness, and love for others made him one in a million. The world was a better place for him being in it, and his memory will live on through the family and friends who love him.

תהא נשמתו צרורה בצרור החיים

May his soul be bound up in the bond of life

Although we had lost touch after high school, it’s still a thing where you meet certain people in your life and you just take it for granted that although they go their separate ways you will both lead a full and happy life. Some people even though they are on earth for a shorter time leave a lasting and beautiful mark on the people they have interacted with. I always remember Aron in a fond way, as a smiley popular guy from my childhood. We went to school together, BA, summer camp and then Israel Tour. Lots of shabbat afternoons kicking a ball around or being silly in group. Aron is always some I remember as smart, who liked to have fun, smile and kind. I know he had a wonderful life, went on to get married and have a beautiful child. I’m glad he experienced those joys. I know he would have made a wonderful husband and father. It was definitely a shock to hear and still is something you feel like you are still processing. I hope he is up in heaven at peace and smiling down on everyone. Wishing you all a long life and hoping the photos I have dug out of the archives of my Facebook will find some comfort, they were from Tour. Aron really threw himself into socialising, lively and getting involved, in one of the photos he is dancing at an Israel concert. One of the photos is a group image were we all have to form the number ‘3’ (group 3) on our first day in the desert, I’m assuming his dot is there too so I included it as technically he’s in there. Aron was a joy to have known. Again I wish you all a long life.

Hi everyone, Me and my family will be climbing some mountains this July in memory Aron. We are raising money for Mind, a mental health charity, that Aron frequently donated to. Aron was a GOAT in all meanings of the word. Not only was he the Greatest husband, father, son, brother and friend Of All Time, but he was also regularly compared to a goat due to his passion and ability to climb mountains. Aron even completed the three peaks challenge in just over 18 hours! My brother Josh, my Dad and I will be doing the three peaks challenge, which involves climbing the tallest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. Simultaneously, my sister Rebecca will be climbing Mt. Asahi-dake, the tallest mountain on the Japanese island of Hokkaido. Please help us honour Aron by donating and wishing us luck on our adventures! (I especially need it as my dad is an iron man and by brother is a marathon winner) https://www.justgiving.com/page/fabian-bor-1?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL

My fellow Aharon Yitzhak! I always thought our friendship was special. And I’m sure it was. But hearing other people’s memories of you I realise that this was one of your gifts. You were always fully present and had so much time for everyone. I do think our friendship had its own quirks, though, and was sometimes totally goofy. For such a smart guy you were happy laughing over the silliest things. Like the drunk Irish guy we met in the pub who tried to spell his name to us. Once he finally left us alone, we decided between ourselves that his name was probably Patrick. But, based on his spelling, it sounded more like Poh-der-der-der-ick. And so that became one of the names we would call each other. We would also randomly send each other the link to the Wizzard song - I wish it could be Christmas every day. You actually messaged me a few days before you died reminding me that it was almost our favourite day of the year. Ever the gent, you also wished me a happy anniversary. That was you all over. Kindhearted and peaceful. Yet very much your own person. With a great sense of humour. And a wonderful laugh. Genuinely curious. Complex. A gem. I miss you terribly and feel very honoured to have called you my friend. Happy 35th birthday Borold! Love Churnold.

I played footy with Aron regularly up in Mill Hill. He was annoyingly good. Long legs. Much fitter than the rest of us. The absolute dictionary definition of a Mentch. Hearing of his passing is such a genuine shock. Although I didn’t know him too well it’s hard to believe he’s departed. Lovely lovely lovely fella. Very Aidel. Sending love and strength to all the family
