Andy - Determined Spirit, Gentle Soul It is with extreme sadness that family and friends announce the passing of Andrew Timothy Clarke on Dec 1, 2020. Born May 8, 1972, Andrew was diagnosed with brain cancer on July 16 and his resolute battle to stay positive and thankful throughout the medical process is a memory we cherish. His wife Alison Hodges Clarke and 2 sons Owen and John will remember him always. Pre-deceased by his father William, he leaves 2 brothers Bill and Ken and a devoted mother Marie. His extended family will remember his sense of humour and very dedicated spirit. Friends have kept in touch during this time and their memories of golf and goofing around will make them smile. We will not have a formal funeral event but you can add to this webpage at Gatheringus.com. My sincere condolences to the Clarke Family. Earliest recollections of Andrew for me came during our years at Humberside. He was introduced as a friend by a friend, and I immediately felt at ease and taken by his warm and witty ways. Over time as I got to know him more, it was easy to see what a terrific person he was. Always kind and checking to see how things were in your world. As the years went on, Andrew was always someone that I looked forward to seeing and being around. Whether it was golf, cards or just hanging out, his positivity and ability to share a funny story were always a highlight of our gatherings. I especially enjoyed our golf trips, and Andrew hosted us one year at his cottage. He was in his element as he dearly loved that place and he was an enthusiastic and wonderful host, and you could see that he thoroughly enjoyed sharing what was so meaningful to him. I am so sad to lose a dear friend such as Andrew. He showed the best side of all of us and was just a wonderful person. My life is certainly blessed to have known him. He may not be with us, but he will remain among us through our thoughts and memories. Miss you Drew!

I first met Andrew in the middle of high school through friends of friends. He was a positive, friendly, funny guy each and every time I met him. He was always the first person to ask how you were or what you needed. We have been lucky as a group to have an annual golf trip (our grownup version of Christmas) It could have been a year between visits, but Andrew made it seem like you talked to him just the day before. He was blessed with so many gifts, but humour was one of his sharpest blades. Andrew was funny. Like one of the funniest people you will ever meet funny. Not loud haha get a load of me funny, but witty, kind, sarcastic, self deprecating funny. Andrew took care of his friends, with all his heart, strength and all his love. Even in our final get together, he only wanted to know what I needed. Funny, kind, and strong! I am so very sad to have lost my friend. I am also so very happy that I was blessed to know such an amazing person, that made such a difference in so many of our lives. He is no longer with us, but he will live on in our hearts and minds, in things that make us laugh or smile, and in things that remind us that life is beautiful and kind. We love you Andrew.

My condolences to the Clarke family for their loss. While I'm sure that I met Andrew in high school so many years ago it wasn't until our 20s that we came to know each other better. Invariably, back in those days outings with our high school gang revolved around watching Leaf games, playing ball hockey, playing cards, eating wings and having a few beers. It was a great time, figuring our way around the world with more than a few fun and crazy misadventures along the way. It was during these times that Andrew's strength of character and sense of humour first started to stand out for me. Always selfless, always there to help and eager to have a great discussion - anchoring qualities that dispelled the awkwardness that often comes with a few year's age difference, especially when you're in your 20s. Moving into our 30s we built upon our friendships even further as we started off with our great tradition of yearly golf weekends. Given our busy lives, work and families these outings afforded us all the opportunity to get together and provided the outlet for all of us to let off some steam, laugh and catch up on life. Whether it was while playing golf, ball hockey or poker, sitting around a campfire or hanging out at the beach during a Sauble sunset Andrew was the person that kept the conversation going, provided sharp insights, pointed out crazy ironies and generally made everyone laugh. Given the tight knit nature of our group it's very hard to come to grips with Andrew's passing, it's just so wrong and so surreal. I'm certain that if he was behind my shoulder reading what I was writing now he'd be focused on making me (us) feel better, because that's the kind of person he was. We're all much richer for having known him and having had him as a dear friend. Miss you Andrew! RIP.

My condolences to the Clarke family and to all those who knew Andrew. I only had the fortune of catching up with Andrew once a year at the annual Golf Weekend, but right from day one (15+ years ago), he welcomed me as if I been part of the gang for years. To echo the wonderful memories left by others, Andrew was one of a kind - A caring friend, had a great sense of humour and quick wit, plus not to shabby of a golfer:) He will be sorely missed, but will live on through the memories of everyone that had the privilege to know him.

My condolences to Andrew's family, such a loss leaves a hole that can't be filled. I only got to see Andrew once or twice a year on golf trips but it was always amazing how he could make you feel like you were important and cared about. His smile and funny lines could warm up any room. And his golf swing was a thing of beauty too. Even when his game was off his wit and charm were on. Miss you pal!
