Andrea and I met in 2016 at the Federal Executive Institute training center. We hit it off right away and remained close colleagues and friends since. I - and our entire cohort - were shocked and so saddened when we found out this week. She was a passionate leader who was transforming her office. Andrea was FUN - she had all of us laughing and truly enjoying being together. I also know how much she loved Eric and her family, including the four-legged loves. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Andrea was one of the kindest, most genuine people I've ever met in my life. We met as undergrads and maintained our friendship through the years in WI, MI, and DC, even though we were only able to see each other very infrequently over the past decade. Spending time with her and Eric always renewed my faith in humanity. Our hearts are broken, especially for Eric, her mother, her siblings, and her babies. We love you and will miss you so much, Andrea!

I have no words to adequately express the magnitude of the loss I feel regarding Andrea's death. She was my most trusted colleagues and a dear friend. I had the pleasure of working with Andrea for the last 15 years at SSA and OMHA. She was an extraordinary employee, but a far better person. Andrea touched everyone she came in contact with and made them all feel valued and important. She was universally loved by everyone who knew her well. I keep reminding myself how lucky I was to have Andrea as a friend, but at this moment, the void she has left in my life, and that of everyone else who knew and loved her, is immeasurable.

I first met Andrea some 15 years ago at SSA. She was working with Bruce then and both were my customers on a major project. I feel very fortunate to have continued with work with her here at OMHA. Andrea is one of the reasons I came to OMHA. Andrea was always a warm, kind person who had a wonderful fun personality. I enjoyed her company and friendship. At work, she was remarkable in finding a way forward through tough issues and always cutting through the emotions to see a person's point of view. I hate losing friends and Andrea was just way, way too young to go. The world was a far better place when she was here. May the winds of the Rockies always be at your back May the trails always behold a new sight May the sun always keep you warm and bright And may you find serenity in the path God has taken you

I did not know Andrea long, but Andrea was they type of person that you did not have to know long to be impacted by her dynamic soul. She was a person who motivated you to be better. She was warm and welcoming and always had time, even when you could barely see her under the pile of projects on her desk. I have never had a boss, nor a job that I was excited about - that made me excited to get out of bed in the morning and come to work, that is, until I met Andrea. Andrea's enthusiasm for our office was contagious, her innate ability to be positive when things didn't always look that way was what everyone prays for when they think about who they want as their leader. Andrea led with passion, enthusiasm and a we-can-conquer-all attitude. Not only was she an inspirational leader for this office and for myself personally, she was a genuinely good person. She will be deeply, deeply missed. What an amazing woman to have touched so many lives and to have impacted so many people - no matter how long you knew Andrea, she made a lasting impact and I am forever grateful for her.

I had the honor and privilege of working for Andrea Monson for a year and a half. Andrea was my supervisor while I was a detailee for the development of ECAPE. Andrea was one of the most dedicated and hardworking people I have ever met, she always went above and beyond. She was really passionate about ECAPE and all of her other contributions at OMHA. Andrea cared about everyone on her staff. I will always remember how she was encouraging and how she helped me believe in myself and in the work product I delivered on the ECAPE development team. She often took time out of her day to call me and others on the phone and ask us how everything was going and how she could help. Andrea was one of a kind, she was a mentor and a true inspiration. I am so sad and still in disbelief that she left us so soon. I will always remember her smile, her laughter, personality, and the way she made everyone feel comfortable and appreciated. I am truly grateful for the time I spent with Andrea.
